Proper Golf Swing
59About a proper golf swing, master your back swing and watch how much you have added value to your golfing experience. Unless you have this skill, you can not make the most of your game of golf. This does not mean that you will not be able to play the game, but a great back swing can take you miles ahead in performance as well as improving your putting skills. Improving your back swing has a lot to do with improving your form and distance rather than aiming to improve your power.
If you are starting with a good solid stances as you swing, which includes proper posture, as well as shoes and alignment with the ball you are going to have a much better attempt at improving your swing. Lack of a strong posture entails twisting at the wrong time and eventually not being able to hold the club properly. All these things put together could create big problems in a good back swing. The first action step is to have the right posture which would allow you for the right follow through for the swing.
If you have any doubts about your stance take a picture with a camera, or ask someone else to take a picture. Then compare your picture with the picture of a correct stance. If there is a problem with this option, then look up lessons which could make you work with some one. A strong foundation skill is needed so that you could move in the right direction as you go on. To improve your stance, working with a golf instructor is a good idea. He can give you correct guidance, which you might not be able to get yourself.
Once the stance is corrected, your job is to look at the problems with your grip. A poor backhand can result right from the start if you overextend your grip or hold the club the wrong way. Unless you hold the club properly, you can never master the art of a good back swing. It is physically impossible and you will find that you are met with countless frustration from attempting it. Dramatic outcome can be expected if you simply shift the position of your hands by a small fraction.
The last major consideration when improving your back swing is that you need to pull the club back from the ball before you lift it off of the ground. Most players make the mistake of lifting the club back and up at the exact same time. Not only does it jeopardize the game but it results in an off-center hit also. You could notice instant improvement when you pull the club before lifting it from the ground. This is not something that should be unnatural of difficult to do. To get an assured impact on your back swing skills, just remember to pull the club before you lift it off the ground.
