If you're looking to get a great deal on a PlayStation 2, as well as some games to get you started, then buying a PS2 bundle is generally going to get you the most bang for the buck.

Sony recently dropped the price on the PlayStation 2 console, so buying one will set you back about $99 if you buy it new, but for another $20-70 you can get the console and a great game or two (and any important accessories) to go with it.

The PS2 bundle for Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock, includes the wireless guitar controller and the Guitar Hero III game. If you already have the guitar, you can buy the game by itself.

Or, if you prefer a wired controller, you can still pick up the Guitar Hero 2 bundle. There are actually a variety of Guitar Hero bundles available for the PS2, depending on what you are looking for.

Rock Band is the most popular music simulation game for the PS2 right now. Probably the best way to get it is to buy the bundle which includes everything you'll need to actually play the game.

The bundle includes the game, a USB Hub, a microphone, your guitar and drum set peripherals. The game itself includes 45 licensed tracks from all of the best classic rock bands, such as Aerosmith, the Rolling Stones, The Who, Boston, The Ramones and dozens more.
