Yorkie Dogs!

When it comes to the cutest and most lovable of all dogs, Yorkie Dogs take the lead!

Of course I'm being a bit subjective but after "raising" two of them as my own, I can say that I am officially a "believer" in the yorkie.

Let me take you back for a moment... I've always been a dog lover, but never a lover of small dogs! So there I was, just graduated from college, and ready for "the real world", and did what every responsible new adult should do - get a new dog!

I was ready for fatherhood for sure. I decided on what I thought was the best dog for me at the time -- a Black Lab. This dog was awesome. He rode in the back of my truck, went camping and hiking with me, even *almost* learned how to catch a frisbee! :)

His name was RoyBoy. He was a true buddy.

Fast forward about 6 years...

My wife and I just had our 3rd child. It was another boy and we were filled with joy. But with every day that went by I felt bad for good 'ol Roy Boy. I couldn't give him the attention he needed like I used to and our back yard was suffocatingly small for him.

So when a friend offered to take him and let him roam free on his ranch, I knew I had to give him up...

So what do this have to do with yorkie dogs in specific?

Good question, just be patient... I'm getting back to that! :)

Well the time came that we ready for our first family dog. My wife wanted *brace yourself* a poodle of some kind -- I said, "no way in ....... will I *ever* get a poodle!"

But she wanted a small mutt of some kind, and she had a point, smaller *can* be better when you already have 3 big boys...

So I researched them all and ended up feeling "okay" about a Yorkshire.

We went and looked at a couple different kind of puppies -- yorkshire, maltese -- they were both cute. She liked them both, I liked the yorkie best.

So we ended up with the Yorkie. We named her Zippy and she was a real treat. She is lighter in color than most yorkies, almost a blondish color. She won over my heart pretty quickly, I'll have to admit.

Over time we realized she needed a friend, so we got another. I think we are just gluttons for punishment when it comes to puppies yorkie dogs take the prize. We are just about ready to get another one, if you can believe that!
