I greatly enjoyed my university education, on many levels.
I loved my time in university -- it was a true privilege.
I left school at sixteen. Education isn't always found in halls of learning. I found that in my early years in the work-place, my lack of qualifications held me back, but in time hard work and experience made up for any deficiencies on my CV. Education is a wonderful thing, and I shall certainly encourage my children to go on to further study if it seems appropriate, but I wonder if the current obsession with further education is counter-productive to a balanced society.
I agree with Amanda -- too many kids are pushed on into university when they would be better served finding out what it is they love to do, and creating that skill set. Just because I loved being immersed in a pile of books doesn't mean everyone should.

Great information, I can say that I have seen the benefits from experiencing education.
