Like pancakes, quiche is one of those diverse foods you can have for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day (if I'm feeling motivated enough to get up early and make it) and quiche can be made in hundreds of ways. I've included a basic crust recipe, two of my favorite recipes, and ideas for other things you can throw into a quiche to make it delicious. The possibilities are endless

Basic pie crust:

(disclaimer, I'm all about buying frozen pie crust to make your quiche in – it cuts back on time and pretty much tastes the exact same, minus any messing up you may do!)

1 ½ cups flour

2 tsp. Sugar

1 tsp salt

2 tablespoons of milk

Preheat oven to 400 degrees, mix all ingredients into a 9inch pie pan. Pat mixture on bottom, and sides of pan, poke holes in bottom, and side of crust. Bake for around 15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown, let cool before you put any quiche ingredients in!

Quiche Lorraine

This is the most basic, and popular of the quiches. You can't go wrong with bacon and cheese!

You'll need:

4-6 slices of bacon, precooked and crumbled into pieces

1 cup shredded swiss cheese (you can use cheddar, or both!)

4 large eggs

Pinch of salt

Pinch of nutmeg

2 cups whole milk or 1 cup heavy cream

1 tsp of butter

Sprinkle bacon and cheese on the bottom of your pie crust. Mix together [in a separate bowl] eggs, salt, nutmeg, milk and butter and pour over your base. Pop into a preheated oven 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

Spinach and goat cheese quiche:

Another basic quiche, great for kids in the morning (healthy!)

You'll need:

½ cup crumbled goat cheese (use an herbed goat cheese for extra flavor)

1/3 cup chopped red onion

1 cup fresh spinach (you can also use frozen, but make sure you squeeze dry!)

4 eggs

Pinch of salt

Pinch of nutmeg

2 cups whole milk or 1 cup heavy cream

Coat bottom of your pie crust with spinach, cheese and onion. Mix together wet ingredients and follow the same steps for making a quiche Lorraine.

I've given you two of my favorites, but there are endless ways to prepare quiche. Using the pie crust, and basic idea of the two recipes I provided you with, try these combos out as well:

Eggplant and goat cheese

Mushroom and swiss

Asparagus and brie

Jalapeño, cheddar, and tomatoes

Crab and swiss

Ham and tomato

Salmon and swiss

Also, feel free to share with me your favorite quiches since they're one of my favorite foods
