Easy Lasagna Toss

Looking for an easy way to enjoy delicious lasagna? You've come to the right place. This dish is easy to assemble and takes about half the time of the traditional dish.

INGREDIENTS

1 Pound lean ground beef

1/2 Cup chopped onion

1 Garlic clove, minced

1/2 Tsp salt

1-3/4 Cups spaghetti sauce

6 Ounces spiral noodles, cooked and drained

1 Cup cottage cheese

2 Cups shredded Mozzarella cheese, divided

Grated Parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS

1. In a large skillet, brown beef with onion, garlic and salt. Drain

2. Stir in spaghetti sauce and simmer until heated through.

3. Remove 1 cup of meat sauce and set aside.

4. Stir noodles into the remaining sauce in skillet.

5. Place half of the noodle-sauce mixture in a greased 2 quart casserole dish.

6. Cover with cottage cheese and 1 cup mozzarella cheese.

7. Top with reserved meat sauce and mozzarella.

8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

9. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving

Growing up, this is what my family did when we didn't have time to make a traditional layered lasagna, except we used broken lasagna noodles, instead of the spiral noodles. And since it uses the same ingredients as a regular lasagna, it tastes just the same.

That's a very good thought dorbledog. Lasagna noodles would be just fine too.
