Rajasthan always had a culture of music and dance. It is a place where one is totally submerged by the spell binding music. The folk music of Rajasthan is popular not only in the state but all over India.  The Rajasthani folk music is about the songs of heroes that fought the invaders. The Rajasthani songs are about the wars, the kingdoms of Marwar, the palaces of Udaipur, the great kings like Maharana Pratap, the smell of battle in Haldighati that witnessed brave warriors dying for Rajasthan and soul of India from the barbarians that invaded India.

Many Rajasthani songs are related to Bhajans and Kirtans (religious or devotional) about Gods and Goddess. Rajasthan has to offer soulful, unadulterated, pure music that can be heard throughout India. Kathputali, Bhopa, Chang, Teratali, Ghindar, Kachchhighori, Tejaji etc. are some of the examples of the traditional Rajasthani culture

Ghoomar - Rajasthani Folk Song

Forts at Jaipur

Rajasthan, the country of kings, is a state in western India. Its capital is Jaipur. It is bordered to the west by Pakistan, northern Punjab, north-east by the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, south-east Madhya Pradesh and south-west Gujarat. Rajasthan was formed on 30 March 1949, when the former princely states were merged to create India. Rajasthan is the result of many historical traditions mainly that of Rajputs but also Nath, the Jats, the Bhil and Ahir of Gujars and Meena.

The original city of Jaipur included wide avenues of 34 m wide; the rest of the street grid component is not less than 4 m in width. The shops are also a size standard, a rigorous amazing baroque into chaos that reigns in most cities of the subcontinent. The original city was not pink uniform that he is now, but a wide range, mostly gray with white highlights. However, in anticipation of the visit of Prince Albert, in 1853, it was painted pink in its entirety; the pink color is a traditional welcome. The practice has been kept since.
