Here's a bit of news. Making money through internet marketing and web development is not just for kids and young people any more. In fact, there's ample evidence that older people are better equipped to bring a more dedicated and disciplined work ethic to the tasks required to succeed with internet marketing.

More and more "retirees" are honing the skills needed to make it as internet entrepreneurs. A recent article in USA Today highlighted several stories about older folks who have had genuine success with Google's AdSense. AdSense is one of the avenues many people have taken to generate income from online activities.

There are plenty of other ways people of a certain age can establish an online business, including selling through eBay, becoming an affiliate of merchants who pay a commission per online sale made through your website or becoming a direct merchant with drop shipping or other fulfillment mechanism.

One advantage older people bring to the table is experience. Unfortunately, in the job market, the experience offered by seasoned workers is viewed as a negative. The perception is that an employer will have to pay dearly for experience, and so resume's received from older people are buried or tossed in the circular file without further consideration. So, hard bitten experience in the workplace can be a plus when it comes to the sort of activity.

Those who do well with internet marketing are the ones who come up with a plan, commit to it, put in the time required, and are willing to be flexible as conditions demand. These are principles that older individuals have lived with and utilized during their working lives. In other words, with a more flexible philosophy, together with the patience, dedication and persistence that comes with age, older internet entrepreneurs increase the odds of developing a livable income online.

As baby boomers advance in the aging process, there will be more aging folks entering cyber space with websites geared to selling products and services. One thing they'll face is a challenging learning curve in order to compete effectively. On the other hand, they haven't survived as long as they have without facing and accepting challenges.

Below, you'll see some sites listed that highlight the advent of older workers establishing online careers.
