On the Banks of river Aire
63Exploring the Water Front
I stay quite close to Victoria Bridge. In fact when I stand in my balcony, I can see the sight of the traffic passing from Victoria bridge towards the Leeds railways station.
If one travels from the Victoria Bridge towards the east side ,along the River Aire, the following destinations can be reached in the same sequence:
1.ASDA house
2.Leeds Bridge
3.Crown Point Bridge
4.Centenary Bridge
5.Clarence Dock
6.Royal Armouries
And, if one travels towards the western side on the River Aire from the Victoria Bridge, then Granary Wharf ( River lock ) can be reached.
Bridges Across the Water Front
I started my walk from the Victoria Bridge on the south bank.
From ASDA house,I moved to the Leeds Bridge. Here I changed from the south bank to the North Bank.
Now I started walking towards the eastern side parallel to the railway line.
Soon I came across an old textile mill ( declared as the best architectural building.Constructed in 1991)
started from Leeds Bridge.
Walked upto the Clarence Dock and crossed the Centenary Bridge .
And, I was standing just at the gates of the Royal Armouries.
Railway Bridge
I have now come out from the South bank to the North bank.
In the front, is seen the Railway Bridge ( This type of bridge is called under bridge ).
Railway line is on the top of this bridge. On the left side is the Leeds Railway station.
The railway line goes to Hull or York on the right side.
If one travels straight on this road, Albion Street can be reacched.
At the far end of this Albion Street is the Leeds Metropolitan University .

The Tunnel
Some times we are accused of having tunnel vision in our life.
But here we realize the importance of having a tunnel.
This tunnel takes us from the south bank of River Aire to the Brewary Wharf.
There is a sculpture installed on the crossing.
Just opposite to this sculpture across the road is the Tetleys Brewary .

The Beautiful Bridge:
This is one of the oldest bridges I have come across at Leeds.
Constructed in the year 1841,even after 168 years, the condition is very good.
The Crown Point Bridge
Crown Point Tunnel
This tunnel is provided so that one can cross the Crown point bridge from underside so that one does not have to leave the south side bank.
