Rugby World Cup France 2007

The Rugby World Cup, rugby union's showpiece event, is held every four years and is the world's third largest sporting event behind the Olympic Games and the Soccer World Cup. It is estimated that the 2007 RWC in France will attract 2.5 million spectators and up to four billion TV viewers.

Twenty teams will be featured, playing 48 matches in 12 different stadiums. The teams will be assigned to four pools, and for the first time in WC history the composition of the pools was decided by drawing lots.
