Every person comes on earth to do something significant. People like Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar are born to bring smiles on the faces of the depressed. Yes, it is very true. I have seen and felt it. At times, when I felt depressed, Sachin helped bring the smile on my face.

The world's best batsman deserves nothing less than accolades for the sheer courage he has shown both on and off the field. He is not only the best batsman in the world but also a human being, who helps others in their trouble. There is more to Sachin than is visible on screen. His off screen role is equally praiseworthy. He helps thousands of orphaned children. His generosity knows no bounds.

He is a darling of millions, superstar, a billionaire, but the most important of all a human being with a humane nature.

He is blessed with the most sublime touches, the courage to face the most fearsome bowler, the smile that can enlighten several faces, the statesmanship to steal victory from the opposition camp, the penchant to win laurels for his country, the magnanimity to donate, the patience to bear criticism, a heart that loves INDIA and a desire to decorate India with victories.

All such qualities have made him an iconic figure of the present generation. I am sure the future generation will treat him the same. People like Tendulkar are very hard to see in this world.

What can be the biggest compliment for this genius than Sir Don Bradman's statement that he sees himself in Sachin.

It is not for nothing that he is considered the best batsman in the world, curly-haired Tendulkar is a class above all. He is the highest century getter in both one dayers and tests. He is the highest run getter in both forms of the game. He is the highest "man of the match" award winner to date. He has many more records to his credit. He was the first to win the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, the highest honor for a sportsperson in India.

For all this, he deserves the highest civilian award in the country, the Bharat Ratna. He deserves nothing less than that.

Sachin's wife, Anjali Tendulkar, is a daughter of an industrialist, Ashok Mehta. Both got married on 25 May 1995. She is a doctor by profession, a pediatrician in particular. Both make a brilliant couple, despite of the fact that Sachin's better half is four-year older than him. Well, age never makes a difference, and it should never be a hindrance in a relation bred on love and entwined in love. It was a love-cum-arrange marriage. Both are blessed by 2 kids -- Sara and Arjun.

Sachin's father, Ramesh Tendulkar, was a teacher. Therefore, Sachin knows the doctrine of hard work and perseverence. His father died in 1999, when Sachin was playing the World Cup in England. Thereafter, Sachin has been dedicating his hard work and laurels to him. Lucky are his parents that they got a son like Sachin.
