U.S Vice Presidential Candidates

Michelle Obama to her husband about his choice for running mate "What do you need a woman VP for, you have me, pick a man." How much does anybody want to bet that Barack was thinking to himself that without a woman on the ballot his chances of actually winning the election weren't looking good?

The Democratic presidential candidate had the thunder and momentum with him yesterday, but Rep. John McCain stole Barack's thunder today and gained a lot of momentum when he named a feisty woman who will not only put up a good fight for women, but has won the hearts of oil company executives who by now are already on the "McCain Train" by now. Whoo-whoo!

What Alaska governor Sarah Palin lacks in foreign affairs experience, she certainly makes up for with her political fighting spirit, and I have no doubt in my mind that the future Vice President of the United States won't have any problem taking on world leaders the likes of LMS (little man syndrome) sufferer Vladimir Putin and his presidential puppet of his, that evil bastard in North Korea Kim Jong or Jong Kim or whatever his name is, the other sick (you know what) in Iran, not to mention Robert Mugabe and Assad in Syria, and the Taliban and al-Qaeda cowards who are cowering in caves in the mountains inside Afghanistan, and inside the borders of Pakistan. Of course, Palin will be learning from Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice whose services McCain will be retaining after he is sworn in as the United States 44th president. She is an asset neither the Democrats nor Republicans can do without when it comes to international relations, and a great person for somebody like Palin to learn from.

Democratic women are already jumping on the Palin bandwagon, so are religious groups because of her pro-choice stand, and mental health groups and organizations will flock to her.

Environmentalists will have a problem with her, but I don't think there are enough of them to sway the election in the Democrats favour, so winning them over is of little importance to the Republicans, but they'll make an effort to appease environmental groups and organizations on the campaign trail. Then there's the National Rifle Association she belongs to, want to bet they are on board the McCain Train.

I could go on and on why Sarah Palin outshines any of the candidates in this race, but there's just isn't enough hours in the day for this "good ole Canadian Boy" to list, not that I couldn't find a few million Americans to do it for me.

The other thing is, and at the risk of sounding politically incorrect or disrespectful to women, the 44-year-old mother of five and hockey mom is a real looker. Don't think there isn't a lot of men in the U.S that don't vote with their other head either if you know what I mean.

I would have loved to see the look on Barack and Michelle Obama's face when they were informed of McCain's choice to replace that money hungry, spineless klutz Dick Cheney. There chins, tongues hanging out, must have hit the floor.

Nevertheless, it will be tight a race and the Democrats will have quite a battle on their hands, but like the war in Iraq, it's a battle they can never win.

While I was wavering on who to root for in the presidential race, and was seriously considering cheering on an independent candidate pending McCain's choice for his running mate, I wasn't ready to commit to any one side until I knew who McCain's running mate was going to be.

After hearing Obama name Joseph Biden as his running mate, I thought to myself that McCain could win this race if he put a women's name on the ballot.

He didn't disappoint me when he named Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential candidate, and if I were eligible to vote in the U.S., the Republican Party would have this Canadian boy's vote.
