Become Enery Efficient

I have been trying for find was to cut my over all household expenses.   One of the biggest bites coming out of my income is Electricity.  In the winter its heating and in the summer it is cooling not to mention all the appliances, computers, T.V. etc.   You need these basic necessities, Right?     Yes, you do…  So how can you cut enough electric to make a difference?    Set your thermostat a few degrees lower in the winter and a few degrees higher in the summer to save on heating and cooling costs. There are these new LED light bulbs that are cheap and will save you even more then the compact fluorescent bulbs available in most stores. The LED light bulbs may have to be bought online. You can turn off yourlights when you are not home but this will not save a substantial amount of electricity.  Unplug appliances when you're not using them. Or, use a  surge protector that you can plug into the strip and turn the strip off when your not using. “A lot of appliances suck energy even when off.  The power strip allows you to turn them off at the source.  This includes T.V.’s, VCR’s, Computers, Radios, just to mention a few.   (Consider getting a solar charger for your laptop computer.) Wash clothes in cold water whenever possible. As much as 85 percent of the energy used to machine-wash clothes goes to heating the water ( Look into a solar water heater.  Most states offer energy credits for installing a solar water heater..)  Try hanging clothes  on a line, whenever possible.  If not possible consider using dryer balls to cut drying time.    These are just a few sensible tips for saving electricity, which should be used every day.  Now let talk about converting your home to renewable energy. It can be efficient  and affordable if you know how.   Did you know that to have someone come in and install solar power in your home it can cost you over $20,000.00  (One solar panel costs $3,000.00 and up.)?   Did you know that wind power cost around $10,000 (A used wind turbine on e-bay starts at $2,900.00 and that is just the turbine).   Your saying WOW, that doesn’t look so cheap.  No, to buy commercial products and have them installed the cost is “OUTREGOUS”.  So why am I telling you it can be done “CHEAP”. ?   Here is the deal you can buy all the materials to build a solar panel for around $200.00 at your local hardware store.  Sure beats $3,000.00 per panel, doesn’t it.  The same goes with the wind turbine it cost about $200.00 per turbine for the materials.   That’s cheap enough.   Then you need to know how to assemble, connect, and all the other details for  building  panels, turbines, and getting “FREE” storage batteries.   (Don’t forget those batteries.  They run about $600.00 each.)   Look this isn’t some scientific secrete.  It’s simple and affordable.  Oh, did I tell you if you produce more energy than you use you can sell it back to the power company….Wouldn’t that be a switch, you not paying them and getting a check instead?     Now you need to know where to find the information.   I have visited several site such as Texas Electricity, who give some great information, and sell an e-book on wind power.  However, the best book I have found is located at this link CLICK HERE.   Do your part for the economy and the environment by going “GREEN”.   YES YOU CAN!
