While we look for fun and scary ways to decorate our homes or prepare for a Halloween party, scary Halloween props, and props that are great mood setters are really great to work with, and can be used in most Halloween themes, even if they're different, as certain parts of Halloween practice allow for scary things and various props that go with the season, no matter what type of theme you may decide on, if you have a Halloween theme at all.

The scary props I'll show you here are of that type, and even if you have a more funny Halloween theme or something not scary at all, these will in most cases work great, and if you are having at least some of your party or decorations scary, these will fit in well.

Below are a number of cool scary Halloween props you can decorate your house or yard with, and add to the fun of the day ... or night.

This crystal ball fogger is a great Halloween prop and decoration, and those long-nailed fingers surrounding the ball are great. Foggers are really great for Halloween, and this one has a fantastic look and design.

Coffins are a blast at Halloween time, and while this one would look more scary at night, I always picture hiding in one of these with the top on, and those that know of the coffin, but don't know I'm in it, come and open it up for others to see and I pop up screaming. It's funny just thinking of it.

Even if you don't like that idea, everyone likes  a coffin around on Halloween, although any other time it's not something we want to see.

Tombstones, like the coffin are great. Wouldn't it be fun to get a bunch of these and create a scary graveyard and add add a bunch of props to it to really get people fascinated with it. Add some scary Halloween sounds to it and you have a great outdoor scene.

Although you can see how this Raven is put together at close, farther away it's very realistic, and would great around the yard, patio, or other places you want to add some good Halloween atmosphere to.

How about around that Halloween graveyard we talked about?

I really like this rat prop, and it would work very well both inside and outside a house. You could even pretend you see it running or scampering around and have a pretend knife in your hand stabbing at it and making people think you just killed it.

By the way, when I was younger and staying somewhere in Wisconsin, this was the method of choice (along with spring traps) to kill the big field mice coming into the house in the winter.

While were on the subject of using sharp things to kill something, this butcher cleaver prop looks very real, and I could picture a lot of things you could do with this to scare the pants off of people. Of course I wouldn't ... do ... that. Would you?

Now it looks like the hand holding that butcher cleaver above actually did some work with it, as revealed in this scary neck stump. Great prop, and it would look really good in a shaded or dark area with just slight light on it.

Here we are again with a scary prop, and this hook looks real, and even more so in shaded and dark areas where you have to turn on a light or turn it up to get a good look.

This would work well somewhere where you have a post or outside building or storage where you could make it look like the hook was really long, or maybe get a torso like about and have it laying on the side. There are a lot of things you could do with this.

I think we found the person behind all the mayhem above, and when you look at him, you can believe he was wielding a knife or butcher cleaver to do some evil. But he is a really dark and scary character, and would go great almost anywhere; especially if you can surprise someone with him.

I guess this is the finished product of the night of evil by the murderer, and I don't think pickled human head is going to be very appetizing to me any time soon. But it is a great gag prop, and in the right place and by surprising someone, it'll give them a good startle and a few squeals as well.

These photos show how you can have a lot of fun setting up Halloween props, and can even make a story and theme around them if you think it through a little. You cans see the variety of things you can put together and come up with with just these few scary Halloween props.
