I hear that our esteemed president wants our youth to spend more time in school. With Asian students running circles around U. S. students in technology, yes, it might be a good idea. It might be the best idea Mr. Obama has expressed since moving into the White House. The article, More school: Obama would curtail summer vacation, does a good job explaining the benefits of putting our children through the “joy” of more time in school.
Ulterior motive?
But, I’m not convinced his motives are good for our country. With current stories about our fear that Mr. Obama is indoctrinating our children, memories of Hitler come to mind. That’s a genuine concern. We don’t need our children spending more time in school for subtle recruitment into a government transition program toward socialism and on to communism. Don’t laugh. With this president, it could happen.
Eliminate the nonsense
If we really want to develop children with the ability to compete with those of other countries, there is a better way.
Teach kids what they need to know for functioning in the adult world. Forget addressing in the classroom what parents are suppose to teach and inform. Yes, stop teaching sex education. Don’t even come close to religion. Stop the atrocity of instilling teacher’s biases in the minds of impressionable children who believe teachers are always right.
Responsible parents can do a better job in the comfort of their homes when they sense the time is right. After all, who should know better than a parent what is best for his or her child regarding such issues? Subjecting students to one-approach-fits-all and the notion that all children are ready for exposure to sensitive matters at same time is wrong! Too, no child should have to listen to parents yelling about what goes on at school.
Now, what about children with irresponsible parents? I don’t have an answer about how to educate them with respect to personal and sensitive matters. I do have a comment, however. Let some person or some group apart from the school system wrestle with the problem. That’s a lot better than having school teachers meddling with the work good parents are doing.
Just eliminating the nonsense I have mentioned will free up a hundred or so hours each year for teaching the children meaningful subjects for competing in the adult world.
Meaningful subjects
The more students learn about the sciences, mathematics, English, literature, the arts, history and civics the more prepared they are for supporting themselves and raising families. Such an education will go a long way toward keeping the Great United States competitive with the rest of the world.
There is nothing wrong with children understanding our Constitution and its significance to an orderly society. There is nothing wrong with our children knowing how our government is really suppose to work. With sound knowledge of what our founders wanted, our children will be on firm ground when challenging our misguided and deceptive elected officials.
Valid reasons - perhaps
In the above linked article, Education Secretary Arne Duncan gives reasons for more school hours. For one example, regarding after school time, the article quotes Duncan:
Those hours from 3 o'clock to 7 o'clock are times of high anxiety for parents," Duncan said. "They want their children safe. Families are working one and two and three jobs now to make ends meet and to keep food on the table.
I do believe every word of this quote from Education Secretary Duncan. Looking at it this way is, I think, sound. But, I suspect that with this president, Mr. Obama, there is more than what meets the eye.
The Obama transformation
Barack Obama promised to transform the United States. FOX News Channel (FNC) frequently shows a video of Mr. Obama saying that in five days the transformation will begin.
When Mr. Obama took office I incorrectly believed he meant that in five days he will begin to correct earlier mistakes and that he would begin to improve upon what we have. I didn’t know until a couple of months later what he really meant. It is clear to me now his intention has been all along to tear the fabric of our great nation apart and reweave it in a way from which we cannot retreat. Since he never explained what he really meant and because the 53% who voted for him didn’t ask or didn’t care, we have, in my opinion, a president who is not just un-American but anti-American.
The difference between un and anti is significant. An un-American is a person who actions are contrary to the best interests of the United States. An anti-American is a person actively opposed to the continuation of the United States in its present form.
Obama’s plan for our children
It will take time for me to know with certainty if I’m correct but I suspect Mr. Obama is actively attempting to steer our children toward socialism and later communism. Doing so discreetly will take time - a long time. But, he expects to have a long time beginning with eight years in the White House. By the end of his terms, he will have had many opportunities to advance the plan he has, I believe, already started.
Within the past week, FNC has shown video of young children singing praises for Mr. Obama. Of course, the innocent children did what they were told without understanding how they might be manipulated. FNC also played a video showing a teacher describing, with slanted information, how our government works.
The extent of Mr. Obama’s involvement, if any, is unknown. However, when considering his current circle of associates and the shady crowd from his past along with his promise to transform the United States, I feel justified to suggest we watch his every move.
One thing is for sure. If Mr. Obama really does plan to transform our country to socialism or communism, the classroom is the best place. Our innocent and impressionable children kept in school an additional hour each school day are perfect for his laboratory experiment.
