Reasons for Being Self-Employed

Becoming self-employed is a dream for many people and the reasons are many. Some people hate their careers and want to break away from the rut of a 9 to 5. Others want the time and freedom to spend with their loved ones. One major factor for considering self-employment is stress. Stress played a major role in why I chose to work for myself.

Whatever your reasons are, they are the right reasons for you. Seeking ways to become your own boss can be a struggle in itself. If it were easy, anyone with the desire would be working for themselves. It takes time and effort to figure out what your true passions are and how to turn them into a business for yourself.

Freelancing

Freelance work is one of the easiest ways to transition from a full-time job to working for yourself. This is because most people can take what they already do in their jobs and create their own business with the same skills. You can start freelancing in your spare time while you are still working a full-time job.

This is often a great way to start a business and work for yourself. There are still risks involved such as obtaining enough clients and work to be profitable. As well as the risks of not knowing when your next check will come in. You will also need to consider health insurance costs and other costs as well. Transitioning slowly until you are well on your feet is a good way to approach freelance work.

Something to Keep in Mind

One thing to keep in mind is that if you don't have a passion for what you do now, chances are you will not enjoy doing it as a freelancer. It may help in terms of stress levels and general happiness in job choice, but over time, you may become frustrated and bored. Freelance work is the same as trading time for money. If you don't work, you won't be paid - plain and simple.

So if turning to freelance work is your choice, I would suggest creating other streams of income at the same time to help with extra income as well as creating a new career all together. One that you would be much happier with.

Health and Wellness Company

While there are tons of companies to choose from in the network marketing industry, I highly recommend choosing one in the health and wellness niche. The reason being that health is something that will never run dry.

People are almost always either seeking to improve their health or finding ways to maintain their good health.

One company I highly recommend is the one I am having my own success with. This company is called Beachbody®. They produce some of the most popular in-home fitness programs on the market to include products such as P90X and more.

You can learn more about it by contacting me below:

Network Marketing

You may have heard of network marketing and may have heard both good and bad things about it. I never paid much mind to it until recently. There is nothing wrong with network marketing, what is wrong are the unethical companies and representatives that run their businesses purely for making a buck. Many people have gone on to find success with network marketing, not to mention brining in 6-figures a year from their hard work.

The benefits to network marketing are plenty:

  • Low start-up costs (average $200 - $500)
  • Work from home
  • Grow it while you still work full-time
  • Excellent products/services (from legitimate companies)
  • Fun to run
  • No limit to how much you can make

Finding the Right Network Marketing Company

The key to network marketing success is doing your reseach and finding the right company with the products or services that resonate well with you. You can find products ranging from energy drinks to administrative services. Ask yourself what it is you love to do and search for companies that are similar.

Remember that network marketing takes hard work and dedication just like any other business. However, the advantage is that you won't have to create a product or service. You just promote ones that you believe in.

Affiliate Marketing

Another great self-employed idea is affiliate marketing.  Affiliate marketing is simply promoting other products and services for a commission. Most people accomplish this by building web sites dedicated to a particular niche or by promoting products online using pay-per-click marketing. There are tons of ways to promote products and services.

The only downside to this way of making money is that it is usually very over saturated. Many people attempt to do it and fail. It isn't for everyone and you will need to learn a lot in terms of building web sites, internet marketing, ppc marketing, and more.

Some people don't achieve success for years while others reach it within 6 months time. I would suggest doing this as a way to supplement income and if takes off for you, then even better.
