First you know the difference between semi permanent and permanent hair color?

Depending upon the formula, Semi permanent color washes out after 6 to 12 shampoos. After coloring your hair if you don't like the color any more (coz you wished it will looks perfect but it does not satisfy you now) you don't have to live with it for too long. Just wait for few days and wash your hair 6 to 12 times with a good shampoo. As semi permanent color is temporary color, you won't have to deal with noticeable roots.

If you want to add a layer of color such as a red tone on brown hair or subtly deepen your natural hair color, a semi permanent color can be a best option. Just keep in mind Semi permanent color will only darken your hair.

Now come to the point of Permanent Hair Color.

Permanent color won't wash out and instead has to grow out. You'll need to re-touch roots every six to eight weeks. Permanent hair color contains a blend of peroxide and ammonia and removes pigment from hair while also depositing new color.

If you want to cover gray hairs, or two or more shades, darker or lighter than your natural hair color a permanent color is a better option than semipermanents color. It makes a dramatic change in your hair color.

There also another option for you than Semi permanent or Permanent Hair Color. It’s the middle of those two options. It calls demipermanent- color which, like semi permanent color, deepens and intensifies your natural color but won't lighten hair. The difference is demipermanent color lasts 12-24 washes, obviously depending on the formula.
