Tamil Film Director Selvaraghavan
67Ring ring. My favorite song and my alarm tune. Heard it and got up. It’s Friday morning and on the way to office thought that my entire evening is pre planned for an outing with my two team mates. I was eagerly looking forward for the evening and hence a break from the work. My friend came and stated some reasons that he cannot go forward. Meanwhile around afternoon I had finished my work and was skimming through some Tamil video songs and saw two or three versions of ‘Ninaithu Ninaithu’ song from 7G.
After the disappointment from the absence of outing after reaching home, I decided to distract my mind with some cooking. After making some decent food, I thought that it will be boring to have food alone. After a long thought, I decided to watch a movie. My first thought went to some Rajni movies ( being an ardent Rajni fan), later 7G came across my mind with memories from the afternoon.
The first scene that took my notice is when the camera focuses on heroine walking with sandals on a terrace of middle class family living colony. From a middle class family, I have not much used sandals. Having seen the movie already, I know the heroine Anita belongs to a more financially better family and have seen some financially well persons following this hygiene (personally I think it is a good practice to follow). But then there were lapses from the director, when the hero brings tea in a cup and saucer from a petty tea shop. But the keen observation of the director has to be noted. I can assure many scenes tell more stories when seen second time and also there were many lapses from the director.
The director had succeeded despite the lack of acting and dancing prowess from the hero. I had noticed many scenes where a better actor could have made a huge difference, especially the climax. But this is a different movie and as far as me concerned, this is the movie that first showed truly both shades of a father and a different shade of love. I salute to Selvaraghavan and look forward to his Aayirathil oruvan.
