I don't know how or why it has taken until now for there to be a deluge of Vampire hysteria, but I for one am glad that it's happened. Vampires are all over TV and Cinema screens and it's about time too I say!

I have a huge fondness for monsters of Film and TV, I always have had. As a child I loved those creepy old Universal Pictures classics and it's something that has stuck with me to this very day. But back to Vampires. Vampires are cool and not to mention, terribly sexy. They're in a league of their own when it comes to monsters. Everyone has their own Vampire image in their head, for me it's Bela Lugosi creeping down that vast staircase with the candle in his hand. I think the perfect word to sum up Vampires is Erotic. It's the dark mystery that surrounds them, and their ability to seize control.

Without further ado, here's some sexy Vampires to drool over.

Gary Oldman as Dracula, dark, brooding and dressed to kill. I haven't seen this movie in a long time, but did anyone actually want Keanu to save Winona? If there's a choice between Keanu Reeves and a Vampire dressed like this, I'm hanging out with the Vampire, no contest. Scrap that, the clothes don't matter, he's a Vampire. Period.

Funny how Vampires take so much care over their appearance, I can't imagine being in my 100's and maintaining such a pride over my appearance. I guess if you're immortal you can't really let things slide, eternity is a long time to look like shit for.

Ah, the caring Louis who would rather drink from rats than kill a human. The fool! Vampires are classy, they don't go around drinking rats blood, no they find some hot chick and feast on her instead. Rat or hot chick, hmmm let me think.

It's a no brainer.

I'm sure that there are many woman who would love to be feasted on by Louis aka Brad Pitt. Thing is, Brad Pitt doesn't need to be a Vampire to get the ladies, I wonder if a stereotypically ugly Vampire could still pull? I guess Nosferatu did. Urgh.

The menacing 400 year old Armand from Interview With The Vampire. Yet another snappy dresser and a penchant for theatre. He'd do well on internet dating sites.

The total opposite of Louis, Armand is a vicious killer with no human qualities. Well, except for his form, he looks pretty good for 400.

I'm of the opinion that Vampires should have dark hair, but that's because the object of my desires is dark, each to their own I guess. Kiefer Sutherland was still a good Vampire and deserves a mention.

Is he one of the sexiest? I'll let you decide that, but he did have a motorbike. Aside of the Lost Boys I can't think of any other motorbike riding Vampires, though there probably are. David isn't groomed as well as the other Vampires mentioned thus far, he's a rough and ready Vampire. Make of that what you will!

Is Angel sexy? He sure isn't when he's in full Vampire mode, he looks a bit like Voldermort then. So why is he on the list? Because you may find him sexy. Angel isn't anything like a traditional Vampire, he looks too clean cut, but a Vampire he is and he wants your blood just like the rest of them. Although he may be dead.

Being dead is the sign of a very bad Vampire, and I don't mean bad as in good.

Why the hell did no one warn Dido that she had a Vampire in her music video?! I bet Buffy was pissed.

Probably the Vampire most responsible for the recent frenzy of Vampiric appreciation. He's 104 and not looking a day over 17, I want to know his skincare regime. 

With this new breed of Vampire, gone are the classy clothes and immaculate grooming. This is the era of the casual Ralph Lauren Vampire. These Vampire needs clothes that can be thrown in the wash at any given moment. Preferably with a little Tide Strain Release for the blood.

The Southern gentleman Vampire that is Bill Compton. A refined man of few words aged 169 who must be great at grocery shopping, I bet he gets it done in a flash!

Bill Compton is the more traditional Vampire, despite living openly amongst humans. I'm sure plenty of ladies would be happy invite him in for some True Blood in O Negative, probably more. Though what would Sookie say?!

Bill Compton is a bit of a charmer, I don't know what's wrong with the women in that show who don't dig vampires. If you had one like Bill popping into your local bar you so would, wouldn't you?
