Even though the iPod Photo has been phased out and replaced by the iPod Video and Classic models, it is still possible to upload and share photos with family, friends and others. Just like with the previous models, you upload photos the same way and can output them from your device to a projector or television for slideshow viewing. Now that the iPod Classic models have an even greater storage capacity, it is possible to share even more photos that ever before.

There are two primary ways to organize your photo library for importing into iTunes. You can synch your photo folders in iTunes so that they automatically update as you move, change or otherwise alter photos on your computer that are saved within that folder. This is generally the easiest way to import although it can be tedious to create slideshows and move things around once they are imported to your iPod. If you use iPhoto or Adobe Photoshop Album, you can categorize and change photo elements for easier importation into iTunes and then your iPod. This can be the more reliable way to create slideshows and organize photos before putting them on your iPod to share.

When you finally transfer photos from iTunes to the iPod, it will change the resolution and file size of each photo. If you want high-resolution photos to be displayed, you will want to check the option before importing. However, keep in mind that high-res photos take up a lot of space and depending on how many pictures you are importing, it might be a good idea to take the lower quality image with you on the go and share high-res ones other ways.

Sharing photos via a projector or television can be done via S-video cables or component cables. These are purchased separately and can be bought from Apple or as third-party cables. Once you hook things up, your iPod under the Photos option give you the choice of how you want to display your slideshow of photos. When you have everything squared away, you will be able to showcase photos for everyone to enjoy.
