Mustang Shelby GT500 (GT-500) History and Details

For those of you that need to get to know this beautiful Mustang Shelby, she is a high performance variant vehicle of the well known Ford Mustang, and she was built by Ford from the year of 1968 right through until 1970. There are a few models that were modified by the one and only Carroll Shelby’s company. These were sold under the class “Shelby GT’ with special identification badges named Shelby Cobra. These models included the 1965, 1966 and the 1967 models. As of the year 1968 the model was to be known as the Shelby Cobra GT and nothing else.

The program that was used was factory-sponsored by Ford themselves in order to battle with the other beauty on the roads, the Corvette, but also factory-sponsored by another favorite, Chevrolet. None of them could be constructed for the sales price that was charged. It was in 2007 that the Shelby nameplate was invigorated for new high-performance descriptions of the Mustang, and this came after the fifth-generation Ford Mustang was introduced. Even with the first Shelby, right up until the latest model, all of these cars are beautiful. They are elegant and just plainly amazing. They are elegant but masculine at the same time.

In 1965-1966 the GT350 was introduced. The 66 Mustang changed in body color. There were not only white models being sold but some black, blue, red and green ones too. This was wonderful as it gave potential owners more of a variety to choose from and they could choose the color that best suited them. One will be surprised how important color is in a car; in some cases an individual will not purchase a specific type of vehicle if it is not available in the color they want. In this case they will either wait until there is that specific color available, or if it isn’t available at all they will choose a different type of car.

1969 Ford Mustang GT

1969 was a big year for everyone, as this is when the legend Carroll Shelby ended his long-time agreement with the car manufacturers, Ford. Another reason why this was a big year is because the GT500 and the GT350 for the model of 1969-70 received major changes that added to the car’s improvement. The biggest improvement was the body of the vehicle that was lengthened by 100mm. The Shelby GT-H version of the awesome Mustang was first introduced by Ford at the New York Auto Show in 2006. The stunning GT-H has amazing gold-on-black paint and then could only be bought from the Hertz car rental agency and no where else.

2010 Mustang GT

Ford reunited with Shelby for the newest release, the 2007 model, the magnificent Shelby GT500. The one we are all waiting for, the absolutely superb Shelby GT500 Mustang is the 2010 model. The 2007 Shelby GT500 was redesigned together with the original Ford Mustang in order to create the phenomenal 2010 model. It looks like a super sports car, just like the Dodge Viper, but the Shelby 2010 GT500 provides a horsepower of 540 and 510 ft-lbs of powerful torque.

Hello Nancy,

What a wonderful car to have owned, the first Mustang, a 64 1/2. There are a lot of old cars I would have held on to, had I only known......

Have a great day Nancy
