Do you find yourself rushing through every day? Do you always feel like there just aren’t enough hours in the day to do what needs to be done?

Many people think it’s hard to find ways to save time or make more time during the day. But it really isn’t all that difficult. The main thing is to cut corners where and when you can, which is something not everyone is willing to do.

Try these ideas and see how much time you can save with them. They’re not brilliant, or even new ideas, but they are tried and true ways that will save you time.

  • Fix your lunches the night before. If you have children in school, or if you take your lunch to work, fix and pack your lunches before you go to bed each night. The next morning, all you’ll have to do is grab your lunch bag out of the refrigerator before you head out the door. You should save from 15-30 minutes doing this.

  • Iron clothes for the week, or the night before. When you get home from work, the last thing you feel like doing is more work. But taking the time to iron clothes for the next day will save you between 10-30 minutes (depending on how many people you have to iron for). By the end of one week, you’ll have saved up to 2.5 hours every morning!

  • Use your crock pot for dinner. I heard a bunch of you groan. Crock pots are super time savers. You can literally dump everything into the pot, turn it on low and when you get home from work, your dinner will be hot and waiting for you. Beef roast or pork roast are especially super easy to cook in the crockpot. Add a few vegetables, like potatoes, carrots, and onions, and you’ve got a full meal for your family. Using your crock pot can save you 1-2 hours of prep and cooking time in the evening.

  • Split your work load at home. If you have children and they aren’t helping out with the chores at home, you should change that right now. Kids of any age can be extremely helpful with household chores if you let them. They won’t do things perfectly, or exactly like you do, but they’ll feel a great sense of responsibility and pride in having helped you. Splitting the work load at home will save you 1-3 hours per week.
