Extraordinary and Outrageous Skull Tattoos
76Like any other tattoo theme, skull tattoos can go from one extreme to another. You can have one that looks cute, and another that is amazing in its depiction, and also in the places people choose to put them.
As you'll see in the first photo below, the skull tattoo on the front face of the individual is about as radical as you can get with not only skull tattoos, but any type of tattooing.
This particular article is not about the cute skull tattoos, although there are definitely some pretty cool ones in the mix.
I did include one photo that isn't of a tattoo, but the illusion was so cool, it definitely belongs here. We'll look at that further down.
Most Radical Skull Tattoo
Now no article on skull tattoos would be complete without one of the most radical tattoos ever, not just for skulls, but for any type.
If you've searched around the online tattoo world, I'm sure you've seen this guy before. I wonder what he does for a living? Do you think a tattoo business would even hire him?

Another Radical Skull Tattoo
With this tattoo, there are a couple of things I like about it. It is definitely unique, but at the same time, if he ever gets tired of it and the hairdo, he can take care of both by simply letting his hair grow out. This is really a pretty cool idea.
As you can see where his hair would grow, it would completely cover up the image. So it also adds the possiblity of going back and forth between displaying it and hiding it when needed.
Why?
Whenever I look at the whole tattoo and body modification lifestyes, it does make me wonder what takes one of these people to the extreme, while others are willing to go only so far.
I suppose the idea that you can have a social life other than on Halloween is a big part of it, but maybe I'm just guessing. Another big reason could be that having a job outside of a tattoo business would also play a part in it.
Oh well, enough jabbering. let's get back to the tattoos.
Rest of the Guy from the Top Photo
One of my Favorites
I was impressed with the quality of the work and the look of this tattoo. The artist was obviously very talented.
When tattoo artists do these lines, the level of difficulty is tremendous, when you take into account factors like having to adjust to the ink expanding once it's in the skin. That's one of the challenges people not famiiiar with the art are aware of.
Not just that though, but also placing a design like this in the exact position it needs to be to make it work is half the challenge as well.
Skull Ear Tattoo
I look at this below and think you bettter have long hair or live in a cold climate where you need to cover your ears for warmth; at least if you want to ever have a need - socially or professionally to hide the image.
One other thing, that's a sensitive area, that much of hurt a lot to have it done, especially in that lower part.
Full Back Skull Tattoo
While this is obviously too much for most people, again, the artwork and quality of craftmanship was great to me. I also like the depth of the image which gives it a 3-D look.
My Theory
I guess it's the subject matter of a skull, but in a large number of cases, there are people you seem to go the extra mile to make their statement with these types of tattoos.
Or course there's always the fascination with death that skulls bring, and the exploration of the dark side of the many horrors of life.
But I think that's just with extreme cases, in the end, people still just try to be cool, and with a lot of designs they are just that.

Skull Illusion
This skull illusion was just so cool to me, that I couldn't leave it out of the article. Now that would be an amazing dinner topic of conversation if a tattoo like that was in a place it could be observed.
What do you think? About the illusion itself, and getting a skull tattoo of the image.

I'm not a fan of tattoos, but I do appreciate the artistic creativity. I have seen the top picture before, but I had never seen the rest of him. I also had never seen someone's ear pierced. Ouch.
I enjoy following trends, so while i'm not really into being inked, I also enjoy the tremendous creativity and quality of art coming out of the genre.
That ear tat is hot haha
Wow thats crazy! A tatoo in the ear. A skull on the face. Dang.
Like the guy with the mohawk haircut, as least with the ear tattoo you can cover it up if the occassion calls for it (assuming the guy with the mohawk grows his hair out).
Pretty wild though, that's for sure.
Amazing designs! But with all those tatts, I cringe at the thought of the pain of having one.
Wow those are crazy tattoos!
