Because it just isn't enough that the Snuggie is the greatest invention ever, the folks behind the blanket with sleeves, aka the slanket, have gone a step further. Yes, they have now debuted the Snuggie for Dogs. No really, not only can you and all your friends wear snuggies, so can your canine buddies as well. It's the ultimate in dog clothing or it is simply a dog blanket that won't fall off your dog when he decides to run away from you.

For an extremely simple and rather typical As Seen on TV product, the Snuggie has managed to achieve a sort of viral pop culture status . There's just something about the advertising for Snuggie that makes you say, "hey, this is the greatest product ever. I want one," or "wow, this is the dumbest product ever, I want one!" Whether this was something the company planned or just a happy bit of synchronicity, they aren't wasting any time taking advantage of their momentum.

I'm guessing that this new product, the Snuggie for dogs, has come about because if you search around online, you'll find lots of people have photographed their pets wearing their Snuggies, or they've actually been looking for one that they can buy. Well, now they can buy an official one.

"Many Snuggie customers are also dog owners, and we didn't want the owners feeling bad about the jealous glances from their pets any longer." - so says Anne Flynn, the director of marketing for Allstar Products, the company that makes the Snuggie blanket. I don't know about you, but I think Anne needs a raise!

What I find remarkable about the Dog snuggie is that it appears to actually fit. I'm sure you've noticed that the human Snuggies are rather, ahem, over-sized. The people-version only comes in one size. Your dog's snuggie comes in four size! Now who's jealous?!

So if you are the type of person who puts clothes on your dogs, I'm going to guess this is a must-have item. And honestly, it looks a lot easier to get your dog into it. Just watch the woman in the video try and get her little dog into a sweater. Someone call the SPCA! LOL

Though they're only available online for now, starting in September, Snuggies for Dogs will hit shelves at Walmart, PetSmart, Petco, CVS, Walgreens, Kohls and Bed, Bath & Beyond.
