Learning Basic Soccer Skills for the Amateur Player
A boy’s life is never complete if he hasn't had a game of soccer. Compared to other sports, soccer is different, in that it gives a person the liberty to do what he wants in the field. The rules are minimal, and you can practically do almost anything you want in order to shoot the ball into the goal. However, this notion about soccer makes people associate it to a sport that has no rules at all. This is wrong, inasmuch as soccer, like every other sport, has a specialized set of rules which you have to follow. Learning some basic soccer skills will bring a whole lot more enjoyment to the game.
Defense Skills
An important skill that an amateur soccer player has to learn is the skill of defense. Defense is very important in soccer. After all, there is no point in training offense skills if you don’t know how to defend at all. Learning defense skills involve mastering the art of transferring the ball from one foot to another. More than that, defending also involves using one’s physique to block the opponent and prevent the person from stealing the ball.
Passing Skills
Soccer is a game that necessitates cooperation in order to succeed. No matter how good a soccer player one person is, if the team sucks, then that person cannot possibly pull his or her teammates up. It is, therefore, necessary for an amateur soccer player to learn the basic skills of passing. It involves having to master the speed of the feet in order to be able to shuffle the ball to another player. This also involves wit and skill, so that you can circumvent your enemy and successfully pass the ball to another player.
Offense Skills
Among the most important soccer skills an amateur player has to learn are the offense skills. Without having this, you cannot possibly be a strong player in the field. No matter how excellent a soccer player is in passing and defending, he or she can never be good enough if the offense of the person is weak. It is tantamount to equating oneself to a sidekick - good only from a peripheral viewpoint. If you really want to succeed in soccer, then you must master offense skills. The most important thing in soccer, after all, is being able to shoot that ball into the goal. Once you have mastered all three, then you can go on to the more complicated soccer skills you have to learn.

It would be nice if you could add little more about tactics, shooing, heading and so on.
