How to recover from Social Anxiety

If you suffer from social phobia, you know how difficult is to recover from this disorder, each person has a different level of severity, some have experience this disorder since they were child and others for just a few months. What most people with social anxiety will agree is that is a very frustrating state of mind and is not simple to recover as some people it should be.

Some of the symptoms that people with social anxiety feel are fear, apprehension, worry, shyness there are also physical symptoms like blushing, sweating, trembling, palpitation, nausea, stammering and even panic attacks when the situation is severe.

Recovering from this disorder requires persistance, help from experts and even medications. However each person is different so what works for someone might not work for other people. But there are some recommended practices that if you follow them you can recover or at least improve your situation.

Here are some of the things that you can do:

Accept your problem and that you need help, avoiding your situation and trying to think that is going to improve over time is not a solution. You need to accept your problem and look for help.

Educate your self, if you dont know what to do, what treatment to take or who to contact, research about the differnet treatments and available and how they work, then you can go and look for an expert to help you with the treatment.

Understand Cognitive Therapy this will help you understand why you have such an irrational fears, how to change your low self esteem and how to change your negative self image thoughts.

Learn social skills, if you think that you dont have any social skills and you dont know how to approach people, there are many courses and videos about social communication skills that can really help you be more confident in any social situation.

Learn about Behavioral Therapy and how it can benefit you but approaching real live social situations that cause you fear.

Those are some steps that can help you recover from social anxiety, you should always consult with a psychotherapist or physician to know how severe is your disorder so he can prescribe you medications if needed.

Just be aware that trying to do it alone is difficult and you need the support of other people, talk with your family, with your friends tell them about your fears and to help you follow your therapies.

Recovering might be more difficult for some people, but you can improve your life and reduce your anxiety by following some of the treatments and medications if needed.
