Network Marketing: Becoming a Solutions Provider for Network Marketers
49Things to know to become a network marketing solutions provider.
Becoming a solutions provider is one of the key ingredients for success in network marketing.
Most of us get into network marketing with enthusiasm. We are excited; we jump in headfirst doing exactly what our sponsor tells us, but if our sponsor is marketing their business the old-school way, it doesn't take long and we are hitting brick walls. Let's face it: multi-level marketing has a lot of problems. Just look at the 97% failure rate.
This is the reason why you need to become a solutions provider. You need to set yourself up in such a way that you're providing solutions for the problems that network marketers have.
Before you go and spread a lot of hype and nonsense, you need to properly educate yourself so that you can provide proper solutions.
Telling people to make a names list, talk to everybody in a 3 foot radius, or buy leads and do the cold call thing is not a solution, it is actually part of the problem. Ann Sieg reveals this quite clearly in her free report, The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing.
Passing out CDs or DVDs and asking people if they can teach somebody to press play isn't a solution either. To me it sounds more like an insult to a person’s intelligence. Although, I do recall being at a meeting where the speaker asked if we could teach somebody to press play and when he went to play the DVD we had to show him. I remember sitting there thinking maybe that's why he asked. Even though I could teach him to press play it never helped build my business.

You nailed it. A great, quick argument for attraction marketing.
I loved the story about the 'out of touch' upline who couldn't figure out a DVD player. So telling.
Thanks Lane, at first I was little of upset with his question but, I had a good laugh about it after.
I'm still laughing at the DVD thing...although that would have been me not long ago! John, you are a leader in my eyes. Keep on hubba hubbin'

Your hub should get lots of people rethinking their current network marketing strategy.

John, this comment may be a little late...I've been away for a bit. I love how you weave personal stories/experiences into what you write. Attraction is about being a real person and sharing. You've mastered that skill.
Thanks Craig, It's never to late to make comment I appreciate them whenever they come.
Good hub - right to the point with helpful information - I DIGG IT! Looking forward to reading more hubs from you.
Exellent hub John. You offer great advice. The most telling line from a recent conference was that you can't hug a computer! They just don't get it! You are among those leading the way into a very exciting online future!
Thanks Irene, I think I'll stay away from hugging my computer. Though my wife often jokes about it when I lose track of time.
What is the number one thing you would say someone must know about the social web to utilize it to becomea a solutions provider?
All resposes are welcome.
That's a great question Curt! The number one thing you need to know is that the social web is not a place to heavily promote your product or opportunity you need to start by being social and providing value first and formost.
I would love to hear everyones response on this as well
I agree. You need to be social and not spammy. One of the best basic videos I've seen about this concept is one by Perry Belcher where he compares going to facebook like going to a party. It's a great video to get a good overview of what your mindset should be when approaching the social web as a marketing channel.
I'm yet to find any real good, nuts and bolts training, on the technical details of building a powerful syndication network on the social web.
What do any of you do or suggest?
I'll share what I do on twitter.
1. I try to find likeminded individuals and I follow them.
2. I try to interact with them by commenting on their tweets. I try to network with those individuals.
3. I research what is hot in my industries and niches and sometimes blog about that or create training and or marketing materials around those topics.
4. I post tweets with links to my sites, landing pages, special offers etc. This is my advertising.
5. I ask a lot of questions. I try to create interaction between me and my followers.
So what tips and resources are you willing to share?
Did my last comment not get approved? It disappeared.
Sorry about that Curt! I have it set to manually aprove comments because there are just to many people that like to spam!
