Retro fahsion - a fabulous style!

Retro, a fabulous style of the 20th century, refers to clothing that imitates the style of a previous era and associated with a post modern stylistic trend in fashion.

Popular and of great prominence prior to the late 60.s, the fabulous style of retro couture dresses was a concept of 'retro chic', developed by the Parisian avante garde of the period.

It embraces the use of period styles from where we could almost say -the past becomes a store-house for fashion.

RETRO - A FABULOUS STYLE OF A VINTAGE ERA

In the vintage and vintage inspired clothing industry, the difference between vintage and retro styles is one of a historical and bygone era. It distinguishes pre- and post 60's  fashion with retro being commonly associated with styles  of the 1960s to the 1980s.

This fabulous style period spanning a couple of decades can thus be defined as a process of scripting history into nostalgic narratives of the chic and trendy and in the 1990s, both vintage and retro became a distinguishable "look" in Britain and the United States,

The aesthetics of inspired retro couture dresses became evident in mainstream fashion with the comeback  of flares, bells, fly collars, the low-rise pants and platform heels.

It was indeed an era of fabulous style for the chic and trendy.

INDIE COUTURE FASHION INSPIRED BY MUSIC

The fabulous and wild Indie couture fashion is basically designs of the past century fashioned and inspired by music of a certain period in that time.

When Indie music first came into prominence there were skin-tight jeans very thin ties and snug fitting shirts which all became the trendy fashion of the day. Bands such as Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand all had the indie look.

CELEBRITIES WERE CAUGHT IN THE INDIE RAVE TOO

And it wasn’t just the bands, celebrities such as Agyness Deyn and Alexa Chung adopted the Indie fashion, thanks to their musical boyfriends.

Indie inspired fashion is a fabulous style and it is characterised by large oversized glasses, checked shirts, studded belts bright white pumps, leggings and oversized t-shirts over leggings, topped with a denim jacket.

And Indie fashion always has a place on the catwalk and on high-street boutiques. Almost as much prominence as vintage inspired and retro clothing.

About Fashion Design of the 20th Century-Haute Couture Fashion 1900's to 1930's

When talking about fashion design, we must realise that prior to the time of Charles Frederick Worth, 'the father' of haute couture fashion in the 19th century, largely unknown people were the creators of fashion apparel. They were mainly known then as dressmakers.

These dressmakers were the ones who inspired style, and made the high fashion elaborately made garments worn at the royal courts.

Being the first real haute couture fashion designer, he opened 'The House of Worth' in 1858, a boutique that dominated Parisian fashion through the second half of the nineteenth century. About Fashion Design of the 20th Century-Haute Couture Fashion 1900's to 1930's...Read more>>>>>>>

Fashion Design Clothes of the mid-20th Century  History Of Fashion Design - 1940's to 1960's

In the 1940's, because of the war years, being frivolous was frowned upon. You had to make do with whatever you had available when it came to fashion design clothes.

Due to it being wartimes, uniforms were seen all over the place, and this continued even after the end of the 2nd World War in 1945.

The strictness of rationing during the war, made women  'make do and mend', because absolutely nothing went to waste. People had to use whatever they could lay their hands on, including any type of fabric, parachute silk and they even had to unravel old and worn socks to make cardigans and scarves. Memorable Fabulous Clothing - the Hot Fashion Trends of a Bygone Era

Many fashion enthusiasts have noticed that today's hot fashion trends is defined by the fabulous clothing trends of the past era,  and that the 20th century fashion trends have become the hit styles of the 21st century.

While other fabulous clothing of the period's styles have been relegated to history, and the bespoke ones to the museums of classical fashion, other styles such as the poodle skirt - one of the top fashion styles of the 1970's - are resurfacing in forms of fashionable trendy swirling gowns with floor sweeping hems and chic ruffles. viryabo! I love the stuff you right on vintage and retro fashion and other things too. We have something in common when it comes to this. I'm actually starting a blog that has to do with this soon. Would you like to write on "retro" stuff for it if I do it? I'm still in the planning stage. I could also just put links to your hubs. Best, GPAGE
