Anyway, let's take a look what the Sony Ericsson G502 can offer.

Design:

  • The Sony Ericsson G502 is an attractive phone in solid bar design.

  • Having only 109 x 46 x 13.5 mm in size, it is easy to hold and fits right in you pocket.

  • It weighs only 83.5 g, feels a bit fragile and light.

  • The casing has a glossy cover, cool and sleek to look at.

  • The are details on the phone looks cool, it easily catches attention.
  • The navigation key looks good but quite small. It's not really hard to use and you'll easily get used to it. The keypads are designed nicely, it is ergonomic making it easy to use. The Sony Ericsson G502 isn't a music focused phone, it also means it doesn't have dedicated music keys.
  • The phone is equipped with a bright 2 Inch 262k TFT color screen in 240 x 320 pixels resolution, it's large enough to enjoy watching good quality videos. The screen displays clear and colorful pictures, perfect for a sleek mobile phone. Videos are really clear to see.

Multimedia:

Well, as you'd probably guessed, it doesn't have as powerful music capabilities like the Walkman series has but it holds the features that you will surely enjoy. The phone has audio tweaking features that is present among the Sony Ericsson Walkman family.

  • It's got MegaBass feature that enhances audio by maximizing the bass frequency, this eliminates much "tinny" sounds that other phones have.

  • PlayNow feature let's you easily download those catchy ring tones.

  • The phone also has TrackID which recognizes the songs you recorded so you can easily find other songs which are in their category.

  • The phone has an FM Radio which is awesome to have whenever you get bored or doesn't have a memory stick yet.

  • Other than the Music Player, you can watch video clips or even movies if you got a high memory equipped, the Video Player is just great plus you can also watch watch videos Online via Video Streaming.

Calling and messaging:

Getting in touch of your friends, family or office is of course is the main purpose of a mobile phone and the Sony Ericsson G502 does it best.

  • Though it has a Tri Band network connectivity, it certainly is enough to have good calls and keep having good signals.

  • It can have GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900 frequencies, it also has UMTS 2100. Switching between them is automatic so you wouldn't have to worry about it. Great phone to bring even on a vacation trip.

  • Only one thing missing though, Video Calling.

As important as calling, the G502 is also an a good messenger.

  • The Sony Ericsson G502 can receive and send SMS (Text Messaging) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging).

  • It also has an Instant Messaging, Predictive Text, Audio Messaging, and Flash Messaging functionality to help you send messages fast when you really need it.

Connectivity:

The connectivity of the G502 is fast and efficient.

  • It has Bluetooth and USB support for convenient file transfers.

  • This also makes the G502 compatible to USB and Bluetooth add-on devices such as Bluetooth Headsets.

Internet:

The Sony Ericsson G502 is actually an Internet focused phone, connecting you to the Internet is very efficient.

  • Its connectivity is powered by fast technologies such as GPRS, 3G HSDPA and even aGPS. This technology allows you to have a very fast data rate transfer allowing you to have smooth and fast Internet connection. These technologies are known to be the latest to be implemented in mobile phones to allow extremely fast connection.

Camera:

  • The 2 megapixel camera on the G502 is just average when compared to most of today's latest phone cameras.

  • Its got a 4x Digital Zoom but doesn't have a Flash, quite a let down. Why do they have to not include an important feature for camera phones? This is the most ignored cases in today's latest releases. But anyway, the phone is still great even without good camera support features.

Battery and memory:

  • The phone can store up to a 32 MB of songs or just data files and pictures, this is just raw so if you want to have a really powerful memory, you'll have to get a Memory Stick micro (M2).

this is not a paid review. i also have a g502 mobile phone. i love its features. aside from its cheap price, the phone has a lot of functionality. im most amazed by its long battery life. the only hiccup that i noticed is that it sometimes hangs up and restarts... aside from that, there's no problem with sony ericsson g502.
