Money saver tips and tricks
70Introduction
I have compiled a list of tips that may help you see money come back to your pockets. Tips based on life experience, learning from people and other reliable sources. Every cents count towards having a richer happier life but a lot of work needs to put into earning money as well.
1.Credit card
-Don't get them, it may be good to use but they suck money out of you with absurd intrest rates, get a debit card instead where you can only use the money you put in, having the same convenience of having a card instead of loads of cash.
-When buying online use cards with a small amount of cash in case you get get your details stolen.
2.Home loan
-The best loan you can get is having a loan partially or fully from friends and family as they probaly charge you very little intrest.
-Don't get tricked by the low intrest rates like 4.5%p.a, they are usually are based on simple intrest meaning you pay the same intrest the same each time even though you pay off your loan. Get the ones that are based on compound intrest where each you time you pay off the loan your intrest gets lower, its a must better option.
-Pay your loans off as quickly as you can for example. instead of paying $2500 monthly pay $1250 a fortnight and another $1250 another fortnight saving you heaps of money on intrest and cutting the life of the loan, i thinks its saves somethings like $80,000 on the average home loan if you use this method. This is because the more you pay and the quicker you pay, theres less intrest on the amount owed as it is smaller when the intrest is added.
-Negotiate with your banks, phone them and tell them you found a lower deal and ask if they could match it and go lower, all you need is confidence, this will work and will save you so much money you will be wondering why you didn't do it. If your struggling with home loan repayments tell them that to get any help, hopefully the banks have sympathy.

3. Saving on electricity bills and water bills
-On average about half of the water bills and a lot of the
electricity bills comes from the bathroom. Try showering less and
you'll save on the expensive heating and the amount of water your
using. To help you do this get a timer so you can see how long you have
been showering, if your showering for more than 1o minutes you know you
are showering too long.
-Peeing when you shower saves money, if you don't like to do this, I understand...
-Use AAA rated water-efficient showerheads and taps that pump the water out quickly without using too much water.
-Solar panels may sound good but they are expensive and you don't make the money back even with the government rebates.
-Turn your appliances completely off not on standby, leaving it on standby slowly drains power while it can cause a fire so by careful..
-A dripping tap and leaking pipes can add up to bucket loads of water in a year, even though you think its so little water turn it off, it will save you a fortune.
-Get energy effecient light bulbs and appliances, when you buy a tv or washing machine and you think its cheap, think again, most cheap appliances are energy-ineffecient so you end up paying more than you should. Get a washing machine instead of hand washing, better cause its a water saver and saves you trouble of hand washing.
-Try using microwave over ovens as they save about three-quarters less power.
-Try only using cold wash for washing clothes
-You don't need a dryer machine, you can dry it in the sun
-Make sure pipes are insulators so that the heat doesn't go off
4.Shopping
The mother of all black holes, shopping is the one that sucks you clean. Heres what you can do:
-Don't get caught up with impusle buying, make a list and stick with it, if you cant be bothered with a list don't buy things you don't need, like zoo? magazine and chocolate bars where they are usually near the counter luring you to buy.
-Do comparison shopping, don't just buy the cheapest or the best, check which products is cheap and has good quality. Note: australian products are the best.
-When buying medicines, hair products and skin products buy generics, you may think they are worse but they have the same ingredients in the same amount but cheaper. This is because the companies that manufacture generics have the right to copy the creator since their 1 year i think of patent expires.
-Buying online is the best place to purchase cheap products but has certain risks like fraud and indentity theft which can be solved by getting avg internet security which can be downloaded for free on my other hub.
-Buy petrol on wednesday morning in australia, not sure about other countries, as it is cheaper since less people buy product on that day- law of supply and demand, since people's pay day are on thursday. Whatever the normal payday buy the day before in the morning not afternoon as it jumps.
-Go shopping for food on thursdays its the cheapest at that time while shopping for appliances on fridays as that is when it is cheapest.
-Bigger is not always better, sometimes the supermarkets tricks you by making the bigger size more expensive/gram than the smaller.
-You don't need fancy items like designer clothes, normal cheap clothes can be just as stylish and comfortable
5. Tax tips
-When earning money from other sources like shares, investment property, put the income for the lower earning spouse so that it is taxed less.
6. Eating out
-Try not to eat out, its a waste of money, most of the foods can be made at home easily, if you buy lunch out in the city then make your own, you'll see the savings at the end of the year.
7. Get free software, movies, music and games

8. Other tips and tricks
-Don't buy cough and cold medicine, they are a waste of money and are bad for your health. Use proven remedies like chicken soup for cold and honey for the cough. My parents tell me to drink lemon when I'm sick, so i thought everything was good but it is now proven to cause dihorea (i don't know how to spell) on an upset stomach. Let the immune system do its work to have a better imune system
-Use can use boiling water to kill weeds
-Use vinegar as a cleaning agent, its cheap and easy to use while other cleaning agents can pollute the air causing it to be 4x more polluted than outside air.
-Plant your own vegetables and herbs, potatoes reproduce really fast and are good for fish and chips, hot chips, what every you want to do with them. Other than getting fresh ingredients to use for cooking it also saves money.
9. Put your money to use
Instead of leaving your money slowly losing in value, put it to work for you, heres some things you can do.
-Put it into banks for intrest, put in term deposits if you don't need the money for a long time and on compound intrest. Simple intrest and savings account only for short-term and flexibility.
-Shares arn't a good idea during a recession as it fluctuates a lot towards a downwardly trend. Good for getting cheap shares and you know what you are doing.
-Investment property is the best in my opinion if you choose a good spot, it can provide you with a stream of cash as you can rent it out and wait for it appreciate in value with house usually doubling in value each decade. Careful of people who trashes your investment property, it can get costly so try to rent it out to people who arn't likely to damage anything.

-Some car insurances are cheaper if you have a certain occupation like teacher so think carefully about how each occupation affects the price.
-Bundle you insurance with other insurances like home, it can save you a fortune.
-Automatic seatbelts and airbags can get you discounts
-More expensive cars means more expensive car insurance so drive cheaper cars if you can
-Get a higher deductible which is the money you pay the insurance company before they pay you, this helps save you a large portion on your car insurance. This can apply to other insurance poilicies.

Home insurance is relatively the same as car insurance. Heres the steps to follow to save on your home insurance.

-Keep a good credit record by not borrowing too much money and repaying bills in time.
11.Get discounts
Buying when there are discounts, find coupons, find a great deal and bulk buying can save you heaps of cash. Coupons can be printed from online sites. Buy direct sale items that are manufactured and sold by the same company.
12.Impatience loses you money
When watching a movie or buying a book or other items that just came out can cost you a lot, wait a while until the price drops then buy it.
-You can borrow from a library instead of buying books to save money.
-Movies on cenimas eventually go on dvds then eventually on t.v so you can wait perhaps?
