I want to express concerns that is relevant with a lot of fathers of my era.  I believe the information that I convey will be respected by 75% of the fathers who can relate.   I have been encouraging kids to do well in school and assist them in fine tuning their basketball talents.  I was one who grew up without a strong bond as a kid with my father.  I tended to resent certain things as I became older.  As a child you see yourself in a different light and most people cannot imagine why.  I told myself that I will always have a bond with my children and showed them a love that I did not receive.   If your father has other kids, then you feel left out and that is more anger on top of what you currently feel.  It took a long time for me to understand this and I needed to deal with now.  I was 22 at the time and needed to have a sit down with my father to hash out these feelings.  It was a good conversation and we learned a lot about from it.  We as fathers now, need to set the example of how respectful men are viewed.  We need to show the love to our sons and daughters and not think about what someone may think.  Showing our kids affection around others is so rewarding in the long run.  The kids are able to grow up with a sense of continued love and not second guess the truth.  This is even so for parents married or divorced out there.  Our children need us as much as we need them.  We need to provide them with all the opportunities that we did not have growing up.  My goal is to travel the world with my kids and allowing them to experience the culture.  I have taken the oldest two daughters to Las Vegas and they loved it.  My youngest is three and she was not ready for that two years ago.  I want her to be amazed at the things that she sees, but I believe I am mistaken the things that she will recognize.  I love all my children and I want to do the positive things that I did not have a chance to do.  We must remove the pride of mothers who give us hell and think about the love our children needs from their fathers.  We play the most important part of our children's lives and we take it for granted.  I would love for someone to express their thoughts about this.
