Steps To Achieving Beach Hair At Home
72Ok, seriously, who doesn’t love going to the beach? I know I do! I love the feel of the sun on my bare arms (protected of course), the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, the sand melting between my toes, and let’s not forget that beautiful beach hair! Every time I leave the beach I dread having to wash my hair to remove the salt and sand because I will also loose the carefree style and texture the beach has given to me so unselfishly. But fear not! I have found that there are ways to achieve this look without having to go to the beach.
Beach Hair In A Bottle
Here are some steps to take to making your own beach hair in a bottle.
- Take 4 teaspoons of sea salt and add to 2 cups of water in a spray bottle. Allow the salt to dissolve and then shake vigorously.
- Dampen you hair slightly, as it would be if you were walking along the beach.
- Spray the salt water onto your hair. Not too much as you don’t want it dripping all over the place.
- Tussle and play with your hair to get the desired look. The salt will act as a holding spray.
- Voila! You have instant beach hair!
****Note: Salt can dry out your hair, so this method is not recommended on an everyday basis.***
Maybe the at home salt water is not your ideal method. Don’t worry; there are other ways to achieve the look. There are actually hair solutions available at any hair supply store or drug store that can offer the same results. Shop around and see what you can find. I can’t personally recommend any one product, but there are reviews available that can help to narrow down your options. I would love here your success with any of them!

Style While You Sleep
My personal favorite technique is so easy you can do it in your sleep. Literally!
- The night before, wash and condition your hair as usual.
- Apply a moisturizing balm or leave in conditioner from the root to your ends to your towel dried hair.
- Starting about an inch from your scalp begin to braid your hair in to single plaits before it dries. Have a spray bottle of water just in case your hair starts to dry before your done. ***The bigger the plait, the larger the waves, the smaller the plait, the smaller the waves.
- Allow your hair to air dry while you sleep.
- The following morning, loosen your plaits and work a small amount of moisturizer throughout your hair, loosening the waves away from one another with your fingers.
- Play with your hair until you have the desired beach look you were after.
- Apply a light holding spray if needed to hold the style.
Another method is to use a curling iron or flat iron to get your desired beach hair look. Beach hair can be characterized as loose and free curls or loose wavy hair. Be sure to keep this in mind when using heated tools because they can give you sturdy tight curls if you are not careful. Below video show a creative and effective way to achieve the beach hair look.
