thanksgiving is the busiest time for stove repair calls not that stoves break more before thanksgiving just that some customers wait for the last minute to call for service,if you have an electric or gas oven the most common fault i see is either a burnt ignitor in the gas oven or a burnt element in the electric oven,half of the calls they burn naturally the other half is by an accident from the customer using the stove,the accident is always juice spilling from the container on to the hot element or ignitor,so always use a strong pan that will not twist or bend easily.
