StumbleUpon can kill your Purple Cow

Remarkable
I truly admire Seth Godin. A few days back I finished reading "The Purple Cow" - a great book. There the author speaks of products and the best way to promote them - make them remarkable!
Remarkable: Worthy of being remarked or noticed; noticeable; conspicuous; hence, uncommon; extraordinary
This is the common definition of remarkable and please notice on of its synonyms uncommon. What happens to with a idea, which picks up momentum, gains the attention of the masses and many people begin redoing it in a similar fashion? Well, it becomes common.
SU Butcher
StumbleUpon is one of my favorite ways to browse the Internet. It is certainly a tool which I use on a daily basis. When used right is is simply a portal to unlimited amounts of quality content.
I remeber the first few days after I got the plug-in on my Firefox. It was so addictive and just when I thought that I have stumbled into the most remarkable site I have ever seen, another one grab my attention. I've barely slept for the first few days, astonished by the resources that I have tapped into. It was like watching a marathon of your favorite TV series, with the only difference that this marathon is not likely to end anytime soon. SU addiction is something quite common amongst SU users, but it appear to ware off.
Why it wares off? Because remarkable sites became common due to the quantity and similar ideas introduced. I no longer fancy pictures of insanely dangerous roads, the worlds smallest animals, UAE concept architecture, etc. I've limited my use only to a few good categories which match my interests and now I "stumble" every once in a while just for the fun of it or when I need to do some brainstorming on my own.
Don't worry little cow
I've lied, StumbleUpon can't kill your "Purple Cow", but it will give your cow a hard time by forcing it to be more and more original. I consider it a good thing. After all - competition is progress.
