Are you new on Hubpages?
61This article is for all those hubpages newbies! If you are wondering how to get around publishing articles known as hubs on hubpages then you have come to the right place. I will explain how you can sign up and become part of the hubpages.com by becoming a hubber yourself and get one step close to earning some pocket money, for starters, if not a $1000!
The first step that you will need to take is sign up to hubpages. To do that, you will need to click on the 'SIGN UP' button at the top right corner of hubpages home page. You will need to fill out a form which will require you to choose a name for yourself that will be your name on hubpages for as long as you keep the account open. It is very important to know that once you have chosen a name, whether it be your real name or just a pseudonym, you will not be allowed to change it lateron. So make sure that you like your name and is willing to stick to it forever!
Now that you have signed up, you must be wondering what to do next. Well, you have become part of hubpages, i am going to presume, so that you can publish your writings online. The next step, therefore, for you, would be to write a piece of article on almost any topic that you feel passionate about or feel like you have something to contribute on the topic. So what you do is, you type out your article on the topic chosen by yourself on your computer using either words or windows microsoft or using any other writing software. Then in order to publish your writing, you will need to sign in your account and click on the box on the top right hand corner that says 'start a new hub'. Clicking it will take you to a page where it will require you to type out the title of your article. After typing out your article, it is possible that it might not be the first article by that name. This will require you to change the title name slightly till the title becomes unique.
What are tag lines?
Well after choosing the title name which will at the same time give you your own unique URL, you will need to choose under which category your article falls under. After that you will have to type out at least two tag lines under the tag lines option. Tag lines are word(s) or sentences that your article is about. For example if you write an article on how to bathe a cat, some of the possible tag lines would be: 'cat shower', 'bathing your cat', 'how to bathe your cat', etc. Tag lines consist of all possible words that explain and are contained in your article. Choose as many valid tag lines as possible as it will help your article to be found easily when searched with those tag lines. You can add tag lines even after publishing your hub.
After you are done choosing the tag lines, click continue. It will take you to another page that will require you to click continue again which will mean that you agree to all the things written on that page. After this, all you have to do is click edit on the text capsule and pase your article. Do not paste your whole article on the same text capsule as it will minimize your add capacity. Try writing articles that are at least 500 words so that you can roughly divide the article into 3 pieces and paste them in three separate capsules. You can add as many text or picture capsules as you want by clicking on text or picture or amazon, etc on the top right hand of the page.
Add a few pictures to your hub in order to give it some colour. However, avoid posting photographs next to the first 2 paragraphs of your article as it will take away a good pictoral advertisement space.
After publishing atleast 3 to 4 good hubs you should affiliate your hubpage account with Google AdSense. Again you will need to fill out a form and provide a password. In order to earn anything from hubpages, you will have to affiliage with Google AdSense. AdSense, pays your depending on the number of clicks that viewers of your hubs make on the ads that show on your hubs.
If you have any other questions or problems that you are facing while using hubpages, you can always ask me about them.
Good luck!
