Super Kingsize Headboard

If you’ve got a super king size master bedroom, why not go for a super king size headboard?  So many people dream of having a grandiose master suite.  If you’re lucky enough to have a bedroom this size, you can go ahead and make a statement with a king size headboard and bed.  A small bed would be dwarfed by such a large room, however a super king size headboard would look just right in a room with a high ceiling and lots of space surrounding it.  As far as furnishings, the size is relatively unimportant.  A mixture of large and small pieces works just fine and will not detract from a super king size headboard.

King Sized Measurements

Even though you have a larger than average room, you still need to measure it to make sure that a super king size headboard and bed are the appropriate choice for your master bedroom suite.  Ideally, the ceiling should be high enough so that the top of the headboard is about halfway up the wall.  If not, the bed will overpower the room and make the ceiling look too low.  Likewise, if you have a bed that is too small, the room will overpower it.  If you are not sure about the size that will work best in your room, measure the headboard before you buy it and bring it home.  If possible, cut a large piece of paper the size of the headboard.  This will make it easier to judge whether or not a super king size headboard is the right choice for your master bedroom.

In addition to considering the ceiling height, you should also measure the area where the bed will be placed.  There has to be enough room around the bed to allow for freedom of movement about the room.  Having an impressive super king size headboard and bed stuffed into a room that is too small can be catastrophic.  Instead of maintaining the spaciousness of the room, you could feel rather claustrophobic.  If there is ample room to use a  super king size bed, the bed will become the focal point of the room, as a bed should be in a master bedroom.

Super King Size Accessories

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to have a large, impressive super size king headboard and bed covered with delicate, feminine bed coverings and pillows.  A super king size headboard and bed calls for accessories that have strength.  Opt for pillows and shams in solid colors that will make a powerful statement.  Avoid frills and flowers.  A super king size calls for more masculine touch or at least a neutral décor.

Super king size headboards look best in a strong material, such as wood or leather.  These materials are strong and will help to make your master bedroom look royal and majestic.
