Shortly we shall be visiting The Titlis .

Titlis is a mountain peak in the Alps range of mountains in Switzerland.

The climate here has freezing temperatures and hence with permanent snow cover

World's first rotating cable car has been installed here so that one can easily travel to the highest peak of Alps at a height of 3238 M from MSL.

This is situated between the cantons of Obwalden and Berne in Switzerland, very near to the town of Engelberg

This was our base camp

One can visit the Mount Titlis from the Engelberg through world's first revolving cable car. The ride takes about 45 minutes.

This glacier at 3000 M is well known for an  ice & snowy exposure 

This is how the Mount Titlis appeared to us from Engelberg on the previous evening.

We took the Rotair for the climbing to Mount Titlis.

This needs to be done in three successive stages.

In this picture, we are in the first stage of climbing.

This capsule has a capacity of six seats.

Three persons can comfortably seat on each side of the cable car.

Transparent from all four sides.

The person having fear of heights also need not worry at all as this journey in this cable car inculcates a confidence into the passengers about the safe and secured ride.

Now we are in the second stage stage here.

In the revolving cable car.

The capacity is much larger (around 25 to 30 persons ).

There is lots of space in the cable car and It is possible to move around all four faces and have different views .

What I liked was that there is always a duty officer from the Rotair in the cable car who monitors all activities like embarking,alighting and keeps on communicating with the arriving,departing stations through walkie/talkie and also with the passengers.

Now third stage is a normal elevator.

It takes us from the arrival station to the third floor.

So now we reach at an altitude of 3020 M or 10,000 Ft. from the mean sea level

In case one is interested, the next  cable car from here can be taken

This takes to yet another plateau in snow through  an open cable chair .

At this location, adequate facilities are made available for

skiing, skating or just moving around and playing in snow.
