The Pains of Anxiety
If you've ever had to deal with any kind of serious anxiety you'll understand when I say that it's one of the worst feelings imaginable. I say "serious anxiety" because we have all, at one time or another, experienced symptoms of anxiety.
However, when that nervous, terrifying sick feeling refuses to go away and seems to affect everything you do. When you choose to stay in your bedroom by yourself for fear of having to talk to someone. There's definitely a much more serious problem.
People that have only had anxiety in the form of being nervous before a presentation or first date are so lucky. They can't imagine the horrible feelings that accompany full-fledged anxiety attacks.
This problem coupled with depression has a huge impact on todays youth. Teenage depression is rising at an alaming rate. We're not sure if it's actually increasing in volume or we are just becoming more aware of it. Either way, it's not looking good.
Doctors are quick to push all types of depression medication. The problem is, finding the right one for you is like finding a needle in a haystack. In the meantime you're left suffering from not only the depression and anxiety you had to begin with, but now you have a whole new collection of uncomfortable and sometimes unbearable side-effects.
I know firsthand because I'm in the middle of just such a struggle right now. I've been trying to find a way to help myself in a more safe and natural way without the unwanted side-effects.
