Symptoms of Parvo

Although symptoms of parvo can be easy to spot you should never wait to see them before you take the correct measures!

Parvo is a disease that only affects dogs. Even after mass immunization it is still prevalent in the USA. Contrary to what many people believe parvo is not an airborne disease but is transmitted through the faeces of infected dogs. You can spot symptoms of parvo with ease as they are very specific.

Symptoms of parvo can be seen mostly in puppies. Adult dogs can show no symptoms of parvo at all but still be carriers. It affects puppies more than adult dogs as it thrives in the dividing cells of a growing pup - which also has a less mature immune system. This disease affects the stomach lining and stops a pup from absorbing liquid and nutrients. It has been known to cause heart failure. Although it has mutated many times symptoms of parvo remain the same!

Symptoms of Parvo:

Loss of appetite followed by vomiting, high fever, tiredness and diarrhoea are all symptoms of parvo. The dog's faeces will be watery, have a very strong repugnant smell and should be checked for blood as these are all symptoms of parvo.

Effective Treatment:

The serious of this disease should not be overestimated even if you see no symptoms of parvo in your animal. Most vets recommend vaccination of your puppy every three or four weeks. This should begin when the pup is just 6 weeks old and continue until its 20 weeks old. Immunization with a 100 percent natural ingredients product - symptoms of parvo - is very effective. If you see symptoms of parvo in your animal take the appropriate measures outlined here but also get the dog to a vet for immediate treatment.

Preventive Steps:

This disease is easily transmitted through anyone or anything that comes into contact with infected faeces. It is commonly carried on shoes and the tires of vehicles. Symptoms of parvo can take between 7 to 10 days before they are visible. Don't wait until you see symptoms of parvo before you act! Take preventative measures. This virus is tough and can resist most common cleaning fluids and disinfectants. It can exist outside a dog for many months! Use a good Parvo Killing Disinfectant and clean everywhere in your dog's environment.

Humans and other animals cannot contract this disease. However, even though it will not be this virus, if you believe you are seeing symptoms of parvo in another animal get it to a vet!
