Tagging Songs For Your iPod
67
One of the most important things for any iPod user to know how to do is how to tag their songs. Tagging your songs is the sure fire way to organize your music. This allows you to classify, distribute and showcase your music the way you want to on your unit. Without taking the time to tag your music, you might as well just weed through a jungle not knowing where you are going.
The easiest way to tag a song is to find it in your iTunes library. Right click on it, then choose the Get Info option. This will bring up the tags for that particular song. You can then go through each item, change it to your liking and click Ok to save the changes. If you want to change multiple items, click on them all and follow the same instructions. If you are changing the artist, album name or artwork, that is the easiest way to go about it You can go through each song individually, but that might become a bit of a nightmare depending on how big your music collection is.
Music files are not the only ones that can have their tags changed. You can change video tags as well by following the same steps. This way you can categorize them into what type they are, such as movies, television shows or advertisements. Each can be customized to your liking so they are easy to find.
When you initially import music, they are generally already tagged. However, depending on the source, these tags may be wrong. If you go through each song, album or video, you can change them to whatever you want. Tagging is all about making it easy to find and use on your iPod. Take advantage of the ability to change them and make your music and videos work for you.
By tagging your songs, you are saving yourself a headache down the line. If you are looking for a particular song and cannot find it, tagging will make it easy to find. If you are importing or exporting artists, albums or songs, properly tagged files will make this so much easier. Otherwise, you will have to wade through your files once more and reorganize everything.

I do, too. I tinker with my album art all the time as well. So time consuming! lol.
