Taking a break from beach wedding planning
54Spending all day everyday consumed by thoughts of beach wedding planning is enough to drive any one crazy.I know, I've been writing about it all week so I'm taking time out. You too can take time out from planning your beach wedding to get your home organised.If you will be moving house then you may need to get rid of unwanted clutter.
But if you are staying in the same building then why not give it a fresh look without the help of a whole construction team or a small fortune.Try these handy hints;
- Clear out unwanted clutter,you don't have to display everything.Follow the simple rule of 'EVERYTHING HAS IT'S PLACE' .If you abide by this rule then you are almost gaurenteed of clutter free home.As soon as you are done using something, put it back into the closet or cupboard it came out from.
- a fresh coat of paint or perhaps just a good clean of the walls, check out your local hardware store for special soaps for cleaning walls, you will sure to burn plenty of calories scrubbing down the walls.
TACKLING YOUR NEW MASTER BEDROOM
What could be better than begining your new life as newly wed's in a fantastic new main bedroom that represents both you and your partners style palettes.
- Remember as newly wed's you want to spend quality time together so the first step is to get the television out of the bedroom or make sure it gets tucked away into a cabinet so you won't be sucked into a daily habit.
- Depending on the size of your bedroom.Keep furniture to a minium. All you really need is a bed.But a chair by the window could be cosy.If you are short of closet space then get a simple chest drawer which can double as your tv cabinet.
- Keep the walls and even linen in light or neutral colours but splash out with colour in your accessories, this way when pink becomes the new blue you can update your decor by replacing a few accessories like cushion covers or candles.This will save you the time and energy and cost of changing linen and repainting walls.
- If you prefer color on your walls the try just a single feature colour wall as opposed to painting the entire room purple.Try bolder contrasting colours for greater visual impact.Visit your local hardware store and check out colour charts.Choose adjacent or complimentary color combinations for the greatest visual impact.
If you prefer wall paper to paint then you may be in for a little more of a challenge.For a simpler yet cost and visually effective solution, why not try stenciling.You can purchase stencil templates online or request custom made designs.
- Once the walls are clean why not give the living room or main bedroom a fresh new look by creating a feature wall.You can do this using wall paper or simply by stenciling the pattern of your choice onto the clean wall surface.
- A stencilled feature wall behind the bed can eliminate the need for a headboard and can help a small space appear like a king sized room.
- Before you get stencilling ,consider the most appropriate position of the bed. The most common placement of the bed is centred on the wall opposite the room door. With this arrangement, the headboard is the centre of attention as you enter the room. If the bed doesn’t fit in this location consider which of the other 3 walls would be more suitebale. Do avoid placing the bed in front of a window. Its better having a view outside than looking at a bare wall when you get up in the morning.
