I never would have pegged myself for the type of girl to like piercings and tattoos and I bet most of you didn't either.

Yet here I sit at 33 with 3 tatts and 4 piercings!

Each one at a different time of my life. For a reason and a season one might say!

I've had my ears pierced since my Momma brought me as a lil baby! She didn't want anyone thinking her daughter was a baby boy! hehe

My cousin brought me to get my second holes pierced as a teen and that was kinda rebellious because Mom had said no! Oopsie!

I think I got my 3rd ear hole done when I was sixteen and I didn't need a parent. I just loved the way all the earrings looked! I wore a lot of jewelry at the time.

When I was 18 and waiting tables at Friendly's , I was still thought of as the Miss Innocent one of the group. 2 Other girls were talking about how they always wanted tattoos and I said I wanted to go too! They kinda chuckled and it became a dare almost because they thought there was no way I would do it.

I did and I still think I came up with the coolest idea on my own! I had a tattooed toe ring done. (Chain link with a heart in the middle) . Everyone who notices it comments on how original it is. I'll never regret that one. And what a story! I get in the chair and I'm already nervous, thought I was a wimp with pain and the tattoo artist tells me that getting a tattoo on my toe is going to be the same pain as it would be to have one on my skull (due to the lack of fat/skin in this area). I was scared but honeslty, it was pretty small and I don't remember it hurting really. The one thing I do remember is my toe getting swollen up and not thinking through the needing to wear waitress shoes after!

BTW, my husband has no tatts or piercings and although he's accustomed to mine would have never chose for me to get them.

I happen to find tattoos and some piercings to be beautiful accessories to ones natural bodily beauty- especially when each comes with a season and a reason.

Some say I'll regret it when I'm a Grandma! I say I'll be one of many very cool Grandmas!
