When i was a child i used to wonder seeing the scientific and technological movies. I was amazed looking at the movies that had robots and time machine and all other stuff. In those movies the robots were the friends of human beings. They could understand human beings. They had all the emotions like we do. And the funniset thing of all was that they could even fall in love with a girl. I always wondered how was all this possible and  Is it ever going to happen for real. But whether it happened in real or not i was more than happy to watch them in movies and imagine that it will be cool if it happened for real.

But now i no longer have to wonder about anything at all. Everything is happening right in front of us. There are so many technological advancements that it is really thrilling to watch and know about them.

I want to share with you all a few technological advancements that i recently came across in few newspapers and also in the internet.

Below is the picture of the robot created by Brown university. It can understand human gestures. It can understand us when we move our hands. It will stop if we show stop sign with our hands. It will even follow us when we move.

 The Imperial college of London has created a new robot called icub. They created it to learn about human cognition. Cognition is the process that human brain uses to communicate, to gain knowledge, to make judgements, to have memory etc. They have created a computer simulation of human brain in the robot. The robots brain uses electrical energy similar to the energy used by neurons to communicate with each other and to send signals to the motor system or the muscles to perform actions. In the same way the robot uses its electrical energy to send signals to its arms, legs etc to move them. By performing this test on the robot, the scientists want to make the robots perform work just like us. So that they can help us in our household work and other works. It will take few more years just before we can literally see robots in all of our homes.

 Below is the picture of robot called KOBIAN. It is a emotional humanoid robot. It can show human emotions through facial expressions and also through body language. Hope that we will have such robots like KOBIAN as our friends who will share our feelings and housekeepers who will help us in our daily activities.

 Below you can see a robot that Japanese scientists are trying to create. They want to create a two legged or bipedal robot which can land on the moon by the year 2020

 Below is the picture of military robots designed to fight in warzones. They will have no fear like the human soldiers have and can kill the enemy with just one bullet. The government is also on the way to produce ethical guidelines for these war robots

 Below is the picture of a sushi chef robot making sushi, a Japanese dish. In future we can expect such kind of robots to be cooking our favourite dishes in our homes and serving us.

There is also another robot produced by Japanese called Manoi AT01 which can perform breakdance moves. It is sold in Japanese markets for nearly 1500$.

 There is also a Italian robot called Dustbot which can easily take the garbage away from all the inaccessible locations for big trucks within minutes of calling it.

 Below is the picture of Albert Einstein like robot with fake skin like material called frubber. It is produced by hanson robotics. It can understand and mimic human facial expressions just like humans.
