The Return of Ted Cantu

Dan Kennedy GKIC Digs Cantu

Michigan Newspapers Fold Up In Droves

The face of advertising is changing rapidly. The old ways are falling by the wayside. In the last few recent months Michigan has lost the Ann Arbor News, Phenomenews, Northville paper, and the Detroit Free Press has actually stopped delivery.

Now if you want to get the word out to the public you have to put your marketing messages on the radio, and television. it looks like it is back to the billboard for many Detroit area businesses. The printed media realm is also ready to take your money but how long can Metro Detroit businesses last advertising in this manner?

Meanwhile in Chicago things are a bit different. Unlike the Detroit Free Press the Chicago Tribune has taken immediate steps to appeal to the mobile media crowd. The iphone friendly APP for the Chicago Tribune is downloadable and can instantly plug you into the Windy City's doings. It is a bold move for Chicagoland as they follow in New York Citys footsteps. The New York Times were one of the first iphone app developers.

Mobile media video is more than just, "mini commercials" but are actually viral media. They have the tendency to grow and flourish over the search engines and gather more popularity. The idea is that you create a video one time and from there it will grow over the web and gain more web presence.

For example, one video that is uploaded to YouTube.Com can actually turn into 4,200 links as with my own campaigns. This stretches your advertising dollar to the hilt and allows thousands of people to view what you are advertising.

It is innovative procedures like this that is going to keep many Metro Detroit businesses alive and in the limelight.

Get Your Sinking Business On Google - It Takes Minutes!

The number one reason for businesses to tank boils down to not getting the word out. In fact, this is an avoidable situation. There are so many ways to get your web sites off the ground now that it really comes down to figuring out what you want to accomplish first. I always tell people, "You really have to know what you want out of life.... seriously".

Being Ted Cantu, is never easy. I am always singled out or put on the spot in public whenever I go out. Often times I am held up on the phone or local business guys will barge into my office and steal time from me hoping that I will have mercy on them and give them free advice.

I do find that flattering of course. But my main concern for these confused souls is that they are flat out building their web sites WRONG 99% of the time. They hope that by building one web site and dumping all sorts of pay per click into it that it will somehow bring them untold riches. If life were really that simple we would all have it made.

Here is some good news.... so strap yourself in...

  • A good Web 2.0 press release will get you online visibility in just 17 minutes.
  • Web video, (listed on YouTube.Com for example) will get you on Google in just 42 minutes.
  • Using something like a hub page will get you online visibility in 24 hours

You get the idea. The real big difference I can honestly tell you is that you have to have consistency and vision. You cannot just assume that having a web site is going to work wonders in your life. I am in 39 different industries and I have to be somewhat aggressive to make something really happen in the world I live in.

Take this bit of advice and run with it. Make your own history and more importantly you must get your own results for them to really make sense to you.

Search Engine Optimization - Reaching The Pinnacle

There are many ways to get to the top of the search engines. But it is next to impossible to get there with a zero budget.... Or is it?

At the time of this writing there are at least 12 different families of search engines. But that list and the contents of it are getting blurred by hybrids left and right. Everyone has heard of a blog and fewer have heard of hubs. But there are combinations of these and to further complicate things you have social bookmarking site cross over sites like Twitter.

Then there are dimensions to Twitter that incorporate a video edge to it. Sounds complicated? Well it is!

There is one thing you can be rest assured of. The web is constantly changing. There are many ways to get on top of the search engines that is -- depending on what your definition is of a search engine. That description seems to be in constant flux.

Ted Cantu has a good handle on all of this search engine business. Especially where PR is concerned. He runs, i Cantu Media LTD out of Farmington Hills, MI which is about as East of Silicon Valley as you can get. It has all the Hollywood lackluster feel as Skywalker Ranch. Its off the beaten path. But out of this location comes the most unique and unorthodox discoveries.

It was out of this location where Cantu discovered how to get a press release on Google in just 17 minutes. It was also here where he took a couple of worthless blacklisted .Biz web sites and jettisoned them to the top of Google in just a few days.

The question becomes. Do you really need a web site to achieve this type of success? Sure having a web site helps you in the long run but do you really need to have one to get this type of result? Cantu says no. But it does involve having a network that is relying on press releases, blogs and a complex number of social networking sites. There is a fine balance in this recipe and there are multiple ways to get it wrong and reach zero visibility.

Other companies opt for the pay per click version and this is definately true in the corporate arena. But some people just love throwing money out the window.
