The planet and the human beings are coming closer and this is happening with the medium of online chatting. A feature of the internet is perhaps the most used one among all the features that are available.

The people who perhaps talk the most belong to younger age groups like children and also adolescents. Simply coined as the word 'Teenagers', this group is one whose members like to stay in touch with each other quite frequently.

Chatting enables human beings to talk to each other in real time by typing text messages which are displayed on the screen of each user. The softwares which are normally used have an user interface which has three major components. The first is the primary display screen which shows the ongoing chat in the form of text messages displayed by different users online. The secondary part consists of a panel which show the total number of users who are chatting at that moment. The final part is the place where the user types the text messages which get displayed on the primary screen.

This was the primary form of chatting softwares. Now there are users where people chat online by not only typing text messages but also talk to each other using the technology of voice chatting. Online chat has therefore changed in a great way since the first softwares were written and since then online chatting has undergone many changes which have totally changed the way people talk to each other.

Online chatting is also used for social networking websites and other associated purposes in addition to the basic purpose of talking to each other. There are many types of chatting softwares which are developed with the aim of being operated on the medium of not only talking to each other but also sharing many things like pictures, videos etc.

Online Chat is hence a wonderful invention and has changed the way friendship is harboured.
