Teertha is gold medalist graduate from FTI. Her debut film was in Telugu movie “SONTHA VOORU” released on 21 March 2009. In the movie Teertha eased the role of a village prostitute – indeed a bold character for debutant. Though the movie was a flop, as the movie can’t be categorized as an art movie, nor it was commercial. It was an art movie without a message in it. Director Sunil Kumar Reddy failed to make an impact with the movie. Neither Raja the main lead as heron impressed in the movie. Other cast include Swamy, Sriram. It was produced by Ravindra Babu and Kishore Bassir Reddy under Srvya films banner.
The story SONTHA VOORU drifts to no where as a young hero Raja falls in love with a prostitute Teertha in the midst of their love, there was political overtone when government announces that the village will be taken over and converted to Economic Free Zone – a la TATA’s Nano Plant in Singur, West Bengal. The role of a prostitute gave Teertha to do some exposing. Teertha’s another movie Ee Vaysulu… another masala movie.
