the politics of bullshit
46The epidemic of stupidity
It seems the Governor of Illinois, Mr Rod Blagojevich is accused of, among other thingsĀ attempting to profit from his authority to appoint a replacement to Barack Obama's vacated senate seat. This act is appalling. Not so much because it is corrupt, hell we are all used to corruption in government, but because this move on Blagojevich's part is incredibly stupid. Apparently, this guy has been taking stupid lessons from George W. It makes me long for the days of Bill Clinton. For the record, I am a registered Republican, and was in no way a fan of Bill Clinton at the time. This Current administration however, has changed that.
Billy Jeff was accused of being many things. Among them was murderer, liar, pothead, sexual deviant, adulterer, and the list goes on. One thing no one could ever accuse Clinton of was stupidity. He was actually a shrewd intelligent man. This is more than I can say for the outgoing president, and the governor of the great state of Illinois.
Again, even though I may not like it, I am used to corruption in my government at all levels. What frightens me though, is the level of stupidity that seems to be overtaking our elected representation. Honestly, did Blagojevich think he would not get caught doing something like this? Did Senator Larry Craig think he could safely solicit sex in the Minneapolis airport mens restroom?
I believe it is time for the people of this nation to start scrutinizing the intellect of those seeking public office. I must say though that education is irrelevant, after all, George W. has 2 Ivy League degrees. One from Harvard and one from Yale. These are supposed to be elite Schools for sharp minded people. I do believe we should have a new mantra for 2010 and beyond--- NO IDIOTS PLEASE!

I think alot of these peoples mom's drank too many bottles of whiskey and smoked too much pot while they were pregnant with them. They become these people who suffer from the Jesus syndrome that runs rampant in politics and think that they are untouchable and deserving of "normal" peoples faith. They feel like they can't be touched by the law, responsibility or accountability. Well something has touched them and it smells alot like "dumbass." (I've smelt it on alot of people in my life believe me) . Some of these politicians need a reality check slapped right across their faces.
