the jokes on me
the rat race the biggest joke ever played on the american citizen.i am a veteran,i graduated high school and received my diploma,i have a couple of semesters of college under my belt.i got out of the army in1993.i got a job and went to work like a good lil worker bee, completey satisfied with the thought of working until i was 65 then retireing.along came NAFTA the brilliant decision to ship jobs overseas to help out other countries.the textile plant i was working in closed down and now i am 32 looking for another job,i find another job work there for about four years low and behold here comes the lay off.now i am 36 looking for another job i find another job work there for about 18 months they decide to downsize to increase there net profits by "outsourceing" to mexico for cheaper labor and where they dont have to pay health insurance.now i am 38 years old on unemployment with jobs literally vanishing.trying to find a job.THAT IS THE JOKE.the truth is we live in a profit driven society where profits are worth more than human life.a society where the ceo's at the top make hundreds of millions of dollars a year while decideing to lay off thosands of people because the companies bottom line is not big enough.but you HAVE one person in charge of the company that makes 100 MILLION BUCKS A YEAR.CAN YOU SEE THE HUMOR IN THAT.would it not make more sense to fire the ceo and keep people working?people looseing their homes because the cost of liveing is increaseing faster than there paychecks, people DIEING in the emergency rooms of americas hospitals because they can not afford health insurrance, people makeing decisions about putting gas their cars or being late on a bill this month.meanwhile the politicians and the corparations are getting stupid rich while we work like zombies.makeing the rich, richer ,in a world where hardwork and dedication means nothing.we are better off running our own business than takeing care of someone else's.
