dear viewers

Channels that had been struggling to compete with media giants like NBC,CBS,FOX, etc, are now finding success in shows on topics beyond the played out bland reality game shows and soap operatic expo sees. My focus for this one is the Travel Channel, starting with what i think is the crown jewel of they're network. None other than Mr Anthony Bourdain and his show No Reservations. To briefly summarize his show I guess would be he visits and tastes exotic never before seen foods to most blue collar Americans. there are some segments that are less enthralling when he visits up scale eateries. But despite all of his experience with the velvet of societies best he seems more drawn to local food showing the real isms of the people and they're life's. Most shows like bizarre foods offer you nothing but a glimpse of gluttony from an over weight man banking more on the shock factor from his viewers. It seems every time a network finds someone of any substantial value willing to speak they're mind there is a hiccup in they're shows longevity and its pulled. I have few channels i can stay with for more than an hour at a time when i find time after work to watch t.v.. But as of late i have been haunted by the travel channels jarring Ellen DeGeneres of a host named Samantha Brown. To encapsulate she pretty much travels to places most Americans will never see beyond a 12 inch insult (TV screen). This will sound automatically like some form of unrequited jealously so i will elaborate. The show briefs people on everything from pretentious resorts, to million dollar cruises. Offering up nothing on the country beyond its upper crust. The sad truth to it is that the network would not emit such flatulence if they did not think that there would a following to it. I am completely perplexed as to who is mental stimulated by this show and others like it. I am sick of the sugar coat applied to every country by the Media distracting they're citizens with glitz of what they can only hope to have if only by being as ruthless and close minded as those before them in the spots of success and opulence. Like a fly to the light Americans tune in and tune out any cognizance or curiosity of the real worlds truths. We would rather watch show s on celebrities who could give a shit about they're supporting fans and show s on they're lush lifestyles and how they weather the "torments" of life in the "real world". I shouldnt be suprised but i guess i expect more out of Americans than happiness in a life of mediocracy and endentured servitude to such simple fallacies.
