The whole series started by a dream Stephenie Meyer (the author) had one night (June 2, 2003) After the dream where she saw two teenagers sitting in a meadow talking about their complications of the relationship. When she woke up she didn't want to forget the dream because it had been so good. So she wrote it down and pretty much all of chapter 13 in the 498 paged book. Then she started wondering what would happen to them and what happened before that? She ended up writing the story of Edward Cullen (a vampire) and Bella Swan (a human) Stephenie always says in interviews "no one was as shocked as me that i finished writing a book!"  Thus the beginning of the world phenomenon!

In the book Twilight a 17 year old girl Bella Swan lives in Phoenix, Arizona and her mother got remarried so she decides to go live in Forks,Washington to live with her dad for a while. When in forks High School she sits next to a guy Edward Cullen during biology he is acting very hostile towards her. He mysteriously disappears for a couple days and when he comes back he is nice to her and friendly. She and her friends Jessica and Angela go to Port Angeles to shop for dresses and Bella goes to a book store to look for a book about Quileute Legends (because when at the La push beach Jacob tells her Edward is a Vampire according to one of the Quileute Legends) After buying the book she is being followed by a couple of guys and then Edward comes to save her. She finds out that he can read minds and she asks him if he is a vampire and she finds out he is. She asks him questions about being a vampire and finds out they never age, and his family does not drink human blood they drink only the blood of animals but it is still dangerous for her to be with him. He was planning to accompany her to Seattle but then he says it will be sunny so hes staying out of the public eye because his skin sparkles in the sunlight. So they go to a meadow instead and talk about the complications in the relationship while there he shows her how he travels by running extremely fast and they have their first kiss. Edward takes Bella to meet his family (the Cullen's) and She is invited to watch them play baseball. During the baseball game some other vampires (who do drink human blood) start to hunt her. Alice and Jasper take her to Phoenix while the other Cullen's are trying to find him so they can kill him. James (the vampire tracking her) finds her and breaks her leg, some ribs, and bites her by the time the Cullen's get there. They kill James and Edward has to suck the venom out of Bella. She has to stay in the hospital for a while but ends up fine, and Edward and Bella stay together.

In New Moon Edward decides it isn't safe for him to be around Bella anymore so he leaves her. Sam one of the Quileute men finds Bella crying and laying in the forest he takes her back to her dad and she is sad all the time. She notices whenever she does anything careless or stupid she can hear his voice and remember him more clearly. She finds some old motorcycles and takes them to Jacob. She starts spending a lot of time with Jacob and isn't all the way happy but when she is with him she feels like she can forget about how muck it hurts that Edward left her. Then out of nowhere Jacob stars ignoring Bella not talking to her when she calls not letting her see him. She finally goes down to the reservation (where he lives) and he tells her to go away. That night while she's sleeping he comes and tells her to guess what is a matter with him because he can't tell her himself but if she guessed it it would be okay. She doesn't know what he's talking about and then when she wakes up in the morning she remembers a dream she had a long time ago about him turning into a wolf. She calls him and finds out he is a werewolf but he wasn't aloud to tell her because it was dangerous for her to be anywhere near him. He promises he would take her cliff diving (when you jump off a cliff into the water) but he has pack duty he has to do so she goes by herself and just about kills herself then she feels like Edward is with her because she did something stupid. After Jacob saves her she goes back home and Alice (Edwards sister who can see the future, and Bella is very close to) is waiting for her. She thought Bella was committing suicide because she saw Bella jump off a cliff. She told Rosalie and Rosalie told Edward. Jacob comes to her house and the phone rings Jacob answers and the person on the phone asks for Charlie and Jacob says Charlie is at the funeral (because Charlies friend Harry died). It turns out it was Edward on the phone and he thinks Bella is dead so he is going to try to kill himself. Alice tells her about the Volturi who kill any vampires who tell or do anything that shows humans vampires exist. She finds Edward before he showed himself in the sunlight and he understands that she wasn't trying to kill herself. The Volturi come and take them. After the volturi decide to not kill them the Cullens have to make a promise that they will turn Bella into a vampire. They promise and they take Bella home. Edward promises he will never leave her again. Bella makes the Cullen's take a vote on whether she will become a vampire most of them vote yes (not including Edward and Rosalie). So Bella makes a promise with Carlisle that right after graduation he will turn her into a vampire. Edward asks Bella to marry him and she won't answer him.

 In the third book Eclipse Bella finally agrees to marry Edward and turn her into a vampire himself. After this agreement Bella decided there was something else she wanted to do while she was still human.... She wanted to have sex with Edward before she was a vampire because she didn't know what it would be like when she wasn't a human. He finally says after she Marriey's him he will do it with her. He knows she doesn't like the though of marriage because as a child her mom always told her what a mistake it was to get married young. Bella does eventually agree to marry him. Then she finds out Victoria (one of the vampires that use to belong to Jame's clan) making an army of new strong vampires to kill her and any of the Cullen's they can get their hands on. The Cullen's find this out and it puts off Bella becoming a vampire. They get the wolf pack to help them so when Victoria finally finds them she is killed. Bella survives again and so do all the Cullen's. Except Jacob gets hurt and nearly killed. At the end Edward decides she doesn't have to marry him and he will still do what she wants, to turn her into a vampire himself and do it with her. Then she decides she does want to get married and that's how eclipse leaves off.

In Breaking Dawn the last book, Edward and Bella get married and go on a honeymoon to Isle Esme ( a island Carlisle bought Esme) and she gets pregnant. They hurry back to Carlise and they don't know exactly what she is carrying. She gives birth to a half vampire half human baby. It almost kills her and she names it renesmee. Right after its born Edward turns Bella into a vampire. Then after she wakes up to being a vampire instead of being crazed and bloodthirsty she skipped all of it. The Volturi finds out about her baby and thinks they are trying to bring back baby vampires they thought they turned a baby child into a vampire. When the Volturi come to kill the baby they find out Bella actually gave birth to it because it is half human. At the end you find out that the reason that Edward couldn't read Bella's mind is because she has a gift to protect herself at the end Edward can finally read her mind.

 I LOVE this series iv'e read it like 12 times! i rate it 5 stars. best for teens or yound adults but even  adults or elders can enjoy these books!
